I don't do "spring cleaning." I do "fall cleaning," in preparation for putting up the Yule decorations. ;-)
Basically, though, the best way to tackle a major cleaning job is to do just one room at a time, and start by first putting away anything that needs putting away, then start at the top and work your way down. That is, first, do all the cleaning that requires a step-stool or ladder to reach. If you have drapes and curtains that need to be laundered or sent to the cleaner, do that at this point.
Then, do then the dusting, and vacuuming; finally, tackle the windows.
