On a scale of 1-10 are you a clean freak, everything is so-so, or I'll pick it up later?

10 being the OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) type and everything is immaculate, 5 is so-so having a little dust maybe but nothing major, or 1 being you look under piles of clutter or clothes for the remote, where do you rank on the scale?

6 - I don't obsess over everything being perfect. I clean things up in the morning and pretty much let things go until the next morning. Sometimes I get the dishes done at night.

I love a really clean house, though I don't keep it clean these days, someone else does it (mobility problems). I'm horrendously untidy though.  I'd say 5, maybe 4 for the remote!

I'm a clear 5, however, the dust is thick though I keep the clutter picked up!!!

3? I'm naturally messy and must fight it all the time. I have lots of clutter, so the actual cleaning is hard to get to. I'm also really busy right now and work all the time, so the house is last on the list. I would love to have a clean house, but it's not happening until I have a break in the work schedule. I can fly around and make the front rooms presentable in a pinch if someone is coming over! Don't open the doors to the bedrooms, though!! :-)

I'm a five - Neat but not nuts.So is my wife so this makes for domestic tranquility. I really can't stand sloppiness. It messes with one's mind.

I'm a 6 and try not to obsess about it, but having been raised by a ten (cleaning fanatic), I find myself ever aware of dirt and dust. I find myself cleaning almost constantly until I get sick of it and then it can go several days with nothing.....until it starts to get to me again. I think there are better things to take up your day than always cleaning, but I do like the house to look organized and tidy.

I would definitely rate between a 7 and a 9. what keeps me from being a full-fledged 10 is that I just can't quite get OCD enough about the back rooms. I use them to store random stuff that I don't feel like sorting at the moment.

They still bug me though. Even though the doors stay closed I feel embarrassed when people come over, like I have a stash of dead bodies in there are something.

As for the rest of the house it is swept, vacuumed, mopped and dusted daily (sometimes twice). No one is allowed in if there is a dirty dish in the sink or a toilet that hasn't been bleached yet that day. The only time I don't worry over it is if I have the flu. Sad huh?

OMG! How do you have time for all of that every single day????

Wow I do the floors everyday but I have dogs so it's a necessity. That's definitely pushing a 10 smile

I clean in a whirlwind. And I stay up laaaate. I have even Hubbed while cleaning. Dust...type something in. Sweep, check my stats. I don't recommend it!

Multi tasking, that is a good thing and I wish I had the initiative you have.  There's a few things I'm pretty OCD about like dirty dishes but the rest are so so.

Sounds 10 like to me.  Where do you get the energy. Do you have kids?  I am fascinated where you get the time.

I stay up late, too, but it's with writing or grading papers--definitely not cleaning. Even if I have a little time, I don't have the energy to clean! Starting to go down in score. Maybe I'm only a 2. ha. No kids either--millions of other things.

I am a 1 or an "I'll pick it up later" kind of person. I really dislike housework because it doesn't stay done. I would rather dream, write, craft whatever....and I am finally old enough I can do what I want and say pssssssst! to anyone who disapproves.

Part of it is being laid back but also a huge part of it is chronic pain.  I do like things to be very neat and clean - I just don't want to be the one who has to do it.

I hate to admit it but I'm probably about a 3, lol!!!!  I just never have been much of a housekeeper!  I'm aware I need to do better, though!  I stay so busy with other things!  I used to have a housekeeper but I just can't afford one these days!

I'm with you on the thankful to live alone when it comes to housekeeping and otherwise (lol). I think I go in spurts from 4-9 depending on my time and mood, (and dirt the dogs track in smile but at least your honest about it.

I'm with you, Kathy! I live alone, but I'm so busy!!! I would love to have a neat house but don't have time for it right now. Plus I'm naturally messy so it takes me longer than people who are naturally neater. Glad to know I'm not alone! haha

Mmmm, i'm about a 3. I hate housework and find it really dull and as soon as you've done it, it needs doing again!  If i'm having guests I have a massive cleaning session though.  If I had the money I would definitely employ a cleaner. I agree with the phrase 'A clean house is a sign of a wasted life!'

I'd like to rank myself higher, but there are times I'm nearer the midpoint 5. Cleaning up takes a lot of my energy and would usually take a whole day for me. But those times that I do it, I end up throwing away boxes of stuff that I no longer need.

I wouldn't say I'm a freak, but cleanliness is very important - everyone should partake in this sort of thing, I believe. 10-12, unless a baby is coming home for the first time or someone is ill in the house, then it could go higher
