I don't believe anything will happen in Dec. of 2012. But I think it is always wise to have food supplies and water stored for any kind of emergency--in our area it would likely be a weather phenomenon. No, not milk and eggs, as they are perishable. If you cook, beans by the pound, rice, flour, salt, cooking oil, powdered milk, spices, canned goods you can find on sale. Anything that stores well long term.
I like the idea if we have a blizzard and are without power that we can still have something to eat without venturing out to the store thru the storm.
We also store some water in 2 liter bottles to operate the toilet if we have a power outage as our well is electric.
