I have some basil, rosemary, sage and japalenos growing in containers in our atrium. The perennials, rosemary and sage, were planted last year and are still doing very well. We have a tree-sized container with pineapple sage that the bees and hummingbirds enjoy. It is three years old and has survived our southern winters. We used to grow tomatoes, but the weather has been so unpredictible (cold springs and early heat) that we gave up. Just for funzies, Mr. B grows a container of potatoes each year. We usually get one or two messes* out of it. We can't grow a regular garden because we live on a hill.
*mess -- southern dialect for enough for a meal
