Many of us have beloved plants that we wish to bring along when we move. I know I do! The first step is to check a Customs website to see what is allowed. Plants must be bare-root, so they have to be free of any soil or potting medium. The roots can be wrapped in damp paper and secured in plastic bags. If the plant has pests or disease, treat it first or leave it behind. The plant would be inspected by agents upon leaving one country and again when entering another. Please don't think of bypassing the process! Diseases and invisible eggs of insects can do great damage to agriculture!
