These are really the only houseplants I've had that have done well. The key to success w/ the ficus is continuity of light and water and environment; otherwise, it will drop leaves.
I'm sure we are talking about the same plant - it obviously works!
People that wish they had a green thumb, should definitely try caring for a house plant that has the potential to last 20 years.
That's good to know, because when I chose the plant, I wanted it to last long. But I didn't know it would last as long as it is. I water the plant nearly daily, it gets sunshine light from the windows. This plant has never been put in direct sun.
Few houseplants like direct sun. If your plant is happy, that's what matters. I water mine well about once, maybe twice a week.
