Art Deco Decor and Style

Updated on October 15, 2014

Art Deco Decor

Art Deco, the art, architecture and fashion style born in Paris in the 1920's still holds a classic allure with the beauty of its lines and forms. Even today, using a key art deco component in your home, an accent piece or furnishing an entire room will complement your modern home.

Examples of Art Deco show in the lines of an old 1930s movie theater or skyscraper. Other art deco style appears in advertising or fashion which exhibit "modern" women with sleek features and stylized curves.

Here are some art deco and art deco style items as well as music from the Roaring Twenties, that I have selected. Liven up your surroundings with a beautiful example of Art Deco!

This stunning table clock is part of Waterford's Metropolitan series. While Waterford has a history of creating crystal pieces for more than 200 years, this clock clearly has an modern, art-deco flair. You'll see in the Metropolitan design clean, rectangular lines as well as unblemished crystal.

When you look at this upright table clock, the shape and form of the entrance of a grand public building will come to mind. Aside from the angular contours, the crystal is unadorned, emphasizing its startling clarity.
