Bed Fan Stops Night Sweats and Save Money While You Sleep

Updated on March 21, 2012

Feeling Hot At Night? Got Bed Bugs? Try A Bed Fan

I came across a product that I would like to share with you - The Bed Fan.

I desperately wanted to find a way to stop the night sweats - I found it! Also a big bonus - a way to not only save money while I sleep but eliminate those annoying unwanted bed bugs! - I hate thinking about the bed bugs or bed mites but after doing a little research, I realized they must be in my bed too :-(

Don't get me wrong, I love summer during the day but at night for me, it leads to sleepless hot annoying nights.

We live in Florida and know that in the summer, our electricity bill gets scary high and we are always looking for ways of lowering it.

However, we always seem to be nudging the thermostat up as the nights get hotter, we sleep better, but I often wake up with a stiff neck from the freezing blast. I do not like sleeping in a fridge but it is better than the humid oven temperatures our house reaches.

So, after yet another restless hot night with the air conditioner rattling and blasting freezing air on my face and shoulders, and me kicking the blanket on and off, I decided enough was enough.

I looked for a way to keep cool at night.

Scouring the internet has given me many answers as to why these hot, clammy nights are affecting my sleep. Menopause and hot flushes do not help! However, I was searching for a way to stay cooler without using more electricity.

I came across a product that I would like to share with you -

The Bed Fan.

(See below for a list of diseases that can cause night sweats.)

The bed Fan Sleep Cooler

Well here it is!

Ok, so what am I rambling on about? I want to share something I came across that not only helps you sleep better, keeps you cool all night (without the shoulder freeze) and most importantly in these hard times -

Saves electricity while you sleep in your cool slumber.

Wow, I know it sounds different but carry on reading; I did and was very impressed with what I learnt. It is only that I am so excited by it that I am going through all this work to show you the bedfan.

Claims to help with:

~Night sweats

~Bed bugs

~Lower electric bills

I will give you the information and you can decide what you think about it. I am not selling these just letting you know about them.

The pictures and some of the information are taken from their web site - its ok I asked first :-)

The Bedfan Cooling System can lower your electric bill.

Ok, did I mention about the saving money while you sleep?

I am all for any money saving things I can find.

Saving electricity while you sleep.

Air conditioning accounts for 45% of the average home energy budget. The only way to reduce your A/C bill is to raise your thermostat, typically in the evening or at night. This makes it very difficult - if not impossible - for anyone to get a good night's sleep until now.

The Bedfan® provides the cool relief you need in order to comfortably raise your thermostat as much as 10 degrees over a short period of time.

This is how you start to save money every day.

The first night you use the Bedfan Cooling System you should start by raising your house thermostat by at least three degrees. I can assure you that three degrees will not be enough so you will most likely get cold the first night. The second night raise your thermostat by two degrees. Turn the Bedfan Cooling System up until you feel cool. Now you know that you can still raise your thermostat by at least another two degrees.

By this time, you have raised your thermostat by seven degrees and on average you are reducing your air conditioning electrical consumption by over 40%.

Now you can take it even further if you wish. For many or us we have been able to raise the thermostat by 9 degrees or more. That computes to an average of over 50% reduction in the amount of energy used to cool our house. I am sure that you can find better things to do with that money then sending it to the electric company each month.

Bottom line: If you turn the Bedfan Cooling System on at night and find that you are feeling cooler. YOU ARE WASTING MONEY and Electricity.

For every degree the thermostat is raised, 4% to 8% can be saved on cooling costs.

The table above shows savings based on raising your thermostat by 7 degrees, with a savings factor of 6% per degree. Note this is for average climates; your savings may be higher or lower.

The Bedfan® only costs nickels per month to operate! It can pay for itself in just a few months, sometimes weeks.

Bedfan, a fan for your bed. - Looks interesting.

What about those hot flushes?

For me trying to sleep at night with hot flushes is the most frustrating symptom of Menoupause.

Menopause is one of the leading causes of night sweats for women. - Don't you hate hot flushes!

**A free must read for women going through the Menopause

Menopause night sweats can be stopped

Hot flushes, I hate them! There is nothing worse than nights sweats caused by Menopause.

I own these wonderful books and I recommend them to my friends.

These links will take you direct to the book on Amazon so feel free to click away.

I love the Christiane Northrup books. She always has straightforward advice and I find that I go back to these books often.

'What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause' is a must have for all ladies going through Menopause.

Bed bugs and Dust Mites.

Whatever they are I don't want them in my bed!

Bed Bugs and Dust Mites - Facts you may not want to know! - Bed Bugs and Dust Mites

Facts about Bed Bugs and Dust Mites:

The average mattress has 2 million bed bugs or dust mites.

25% of the weight of your pillow is dead and living bed bugs - now that is disgusting!

~You spend at least 1/3 of your life in bed.

~Research states that 44 million homes in the U.S. (45% of all homes) have a very serious problems bed bugs.

~At best, vacuuming removes only 5 - 10% of the dust mites populations. You should dispose of all vacuum bags after use since dust mites can escape from the bag.

~Over 17 million people in the US suffer from asthma, a disease triggered by house dust mites.

~Your body sheds millions of dead skin flakes and you perspire 75 ml of fluid while sleeping. A perfect diet for the hungry dust mites. - NOOOO!

~Bed bugs love the humidity, warmth, and safety of a traditional mattress.

When dust mites grow, they shed their skin. The shed skin and feces are small enough to be easily be breathed in by humans, and are what cause the allergic reactions.

Can The Bed Fan Help With Bed Bugs? - All claims seem to point that way.

All this talk of dust mites is making me itch!

How does the bed fan reportedly help with these unwanted guests?

As we have learned, dust mites require moisture to survive. The Bedfan is the tool, which you can use to lower the level of moisture levels in your bed. Therefore depriving them of the moisture, they need to survive.

This is accomplished in two ways:

First, the Bedfan will evacuate any hot, humid air that is building up between your sheets. This heat and humidity is produced by your body and without evacuation will simply buildup in your bed while you are sleeping.

Secondly, the Bedfan will help stop sweating at night thus eliminating moisture required by the Bed Bugs.

As we continue to use the Bedfan we discover more and more benefits and killing these critters is just one.

Ok, enough on these horrid bed buddies!

Who wants to sleep with Bed bugs?

After all that Dust Mite research I am doing all I can to remove them.

We use these in the air conditioner to help clean the air. I have noticed a big difference in decrease of dust - You have to love that :-)

Available in all sizes.

      Hi Suzie,

      Thanks for leaving a comment.

The Bed fan was new to me too.

Heard that they were having heat waves in the UK at the moment - better than rain :-)

I too was wondering if they were available in the UK so I checked on the website and

YES they do have a link for purchasing in Europe

Well it's been hot here in the UK (for a change) but I've never heard of this product before. Perhaps it's not over here. Very informative.

What a great product! I need one! I'm a compulsive bed sweater. Sometimes I wake up soaked and I have to change my entire pajamas. It's embarrassing when you are staying with relatives or on vacation. What's weird is I don't's like pure water draining from my body. There's no odor? The doctors say it's just hormones but I'm only 29. Where are all these hormones coming from? It's crazy I tell you. Thanks for sharing this. I'm going to favorite it for sure! It's a subject I would love to read more about. Bed Sweaters everywhere thank you!!

Well, I'm impressed. I've never heard of the bedfan before, but you've certainly got my interest up. And the lens looks great to me. The only thing I would suggest is that you might want to run spell check, but otherwise it is great! Lots of product choices, lots of info.
