Best Electric Fireplace Heaters for Winter

Updated on September 6, 2014

Find the Best Electric Fireplace Heater for Your Home

Electric fireplace heaters are perfect for any home heating need--they save money on gas or electric all the while leaving you feeling cozy! You will love the elegance of these in your living room or bedroom--they perform well and they look nice, too.

I especially love these because I live in Florida--I know, I know, it's warm here, right? We do get some colder weather, though. While I can't justify installing a "real" fireplace, one of these electric ones is just the ticket for my home!

They make the home more open and inviting during the cold winter months; it somehow makes the winter seem less long and dreary. Electric fireplace heaters are the perfect gift for yourself and your family this winter.

What Kind of Heater Are You Looking For?

Why Do I Want One?

I'm definitely getting one this year

Alright, so as you read above, I live in FL, so what gives? It *does* get chilly here, especially December-February. It may only be at night, since during the day we still get into the 70s, but it can get close to freezing sometimes. When this happens, I really don't want to turn on the heat. Heat is expensive, even though down here it is electric heat. Plus, since we use the heater so infrequently, whenever we do turn it on it has that burning smell that makes me nervous (and I get nervous about the smoke detectors going off).

So, I thought one of these would be an excellent compromise. I grew up in the Midwest, so something about these says "home" to me, too!

Simply Beautiful!

Aren't these gorgeous?

Beautiful Slate Surround

Warm and Cozy Styling and Function

I love the look of the slate surround on theser--it adds a warmth that is complementary to the fire itself. It comes in two great colors to match any decoration style. The mantle can hold up to 85 lbs. and can support up to a 47" TV. Measures 45.5 x 15.5 x 40.2 inches.

White Smokeless Fireplace - Corner Unit

This is a great unit that will match almost any decor and look great in any room. It fits into the corner of the room and will heat up to 400 square feet. This comes with a handy remote control. Measures (L)40.94 x (W)25.28 x (H)37.6 Inches.

Neutral Gray with Stone Facade Smokeless Fireplace

This measures 40 1/4 x 11 x 41 and features a multi-colored gray facade around it. It's a nice way to add texture, but in a neutral way. Many people state that the flame looks so real on this model.

I especially like this one because it is so affordable. This may be a good option for me since I really only use it a few times per year.

Oak Fireplace

This oak-colored option by Dimplex is traditional in styling, and can be used with heat or no heat. Measures 42" H x 48" W x 17" D.

This fireplace would make a nice addition to a living room or bedroom to help take the chill out of winter nights. Dimplex is also known for having a very realistic flame.

We're looking at this option for our basement, where the cats prefer to hang out and sleep at night.
