Best Fish Scalers

Updated on May 18, 2013

Make Quick Work of Fish Scales Once and For All

You caught a fish! Great! Congratulations! Now what? Unless you plan to catch and release, you'll need to get rid of those fish scales.

Yep, you've got to scale that puppy, er, that fish. Make your life easier with one of the best fish scalers available. And a fish scaler just looks a whole lot safer to me than a knife for this job.

A fish scaler has teeth that grab the scales and remove them with less mess than using a knife. And knives often grab some of the meat, too. Do a better job scaling your fish and have more fish to eat. Use a fish scaler.

Scaling Fish Just Got Easier

The fish scalers I've found for you offer what you need to get those fish scaled and ready to cook.

Instead of using a regular knife or other cumbersome tool, a fish scaler offers these benefits:

~ They are safe. Most of the scaling heads on these tools revolve so the scales are deflected down. They don't cut the fish or your hands!

~ They make scaling fish a cleaner job. Many feature Teflon coating which makes clean up quicker and easier.

~ They are sturdy. A good fish scaler needs to be resistant to salt water and rust.

Love it. All these years I've used a plain old knife. Never even knew fish scalers existed.
