Best Gas Range Tops

Gas range tops are very popular with not only those who cook at home but with many of the top chefs from around the world as well.

The main reason that using a gas range top versus an electric range top is so popular is that with a gas burner you can control the heat much better. Additionally, you do not have to wait for a gas burner to heat up where with an electric burner you do.

Today you can find a wide range of gas cooktops to choose from, you will be able to find smaller 2 burner gas ranges all the way up to cooktops that have 5 burners. Additionally you will find that you will have several different configurations to choose from when it comes to the layout of the burners.

When looking for the best gas cooktop for your home there are several different factors you need to consider. Of course the first and foremost thing that you need to consider is how many burners do you need. Most of your standard gas range tops with come with 4 burners but if you are a person who cooks a lot at one time then you may want to look at purchasing one that has 5 burners. However, if you do not do a lot of cooking or have a smaller kitchen then a 2 or 3 burner cooktop may be just what you need.

Gas Range Tops - Things to Consider

Another important factor that you need to consider is how much heat can each burner produce. Typically you will find that with a 4 burner gas cooktop that you will have 2 burners that produce around 9,000 BTU's, 1 burner that will produce around 10,500 BTU's and one burner that will produce around 5,000 BTU's. BTU's, or British Thermal Units, are a measure of heat and the more BTU's a burner has the hotter the burner can get. Keep in mind that different gas range tops produce different BTU's so it is important to read up on any model you are thinking of purchasing.

Something else to consider is the safety features that many of the gas range tops come with, you will find that some have indicator lights to let you know when a burner is on or when a burner is hot. Additionally, some models will have an automatic relighting feature so that if the flame goes out because of a draft or spill it will relight.

The last thing you really need to pay attention to is how easy the unit is to clean. Having a gas range top that has removable grates is a must for easy cleaning. You will also find some models that allow for any knobs to be removed which will also help when it comes to clean up.

Below you will find some of the best gas cooktops made today. Take a closer look at each model and see if one of these fabulous gas range tops would be the perfect addition to your kitchen.
