After spending a week at my daughter's home, and making waffles for breakfast a couple times, I decided it was time for me to bite the bullet and buy a waffle maker for myself. I've always liked eating waffles for breakfast. I've just never felt like spending the money on one more small appliance to take space in my cupboards and counter tops. After that week, though, I decided this purchase would be worth it, because a waffle maker would be one appliance in the kitchen that would get plenty of use.

Selecting and buying a waffle maker was a fairly quick and easy process for me. I jumped on Amazon.com (which is where I do most of my online shopping - lowest prices, largest selection, and best service for most every type of product), did a little research, and selected the waffle maker that made the most sense for my needs. The Easiest Way

We always have a package of Krusteaz Buttermilk Pancake Mix handy. We have always made pancakes before we purchased our Presto FlipSide Belgian Waffle Maker.

What could be easier than one cup of powdered pancake mix, a half cup of water and a tablespoon of oil in a bowl and mixing it up.

Sometimes, I add a little flavoring to waffles, just to make them even more interesting. A couple tablespoons of your favorite Torani Syrup mixed in with the batter add excellent flavor to your waffles. My favorites to use for this purpose are caramel, vanilla, macadamia nut, and coconut. You may have another preference, so you should do a little experimenting to find which you like best.

It makes a decent waffle, but I'm sure that after we experiment with some homemade recipes and some whole wheat options, we will never go back to the "just add water" version of a waffle.

You can purchase high quality waffle batter mix through Amazon.com. These are some great alternatives for they cheap mixes off the grocery store shelf.

I've always preferred waffles over pancakes. It doesn't matter if they are made from the exact same batter and topped with the exact same toppings. I think it's the crispy outer part of the waffle that I like so much better than pancakes.

I ran across this video awhile back, and was so intrigued with the idea, I had to try it. Using a waffle maker to make cinnamon rolls with this method is so quick and simple. They are absolutely delicious, and what could be easier?

These waffle brownies are absolutely delicious. We like to serve them with ice cream on top. Chocolate ice cream works great.

Ingredients:

1/2 Cup Butter

6 Oz. Bittersweet Chocolate

3/4 Cup Sugar

2 Eggs

1 Tbsp Water

1/2 tsp Instant Coffee Granules or 2 Tbsp Brewed Coffee

1 1/4 Cup All-Purpose Flour

1/4 tsp Salt

Turn on Waffle Maker

Melt butter and bittersweet chocolate

Mix sugar, eggs, water, and coffee

Add in melted chocolate and butter

Mix in flour and salt

Spray some cooking spray on waffle iron

Cook 3-5 minutes.
