arpet cleaners are essential for regular maintenance of your carpets and upholstery. Spray cleaners are alright occasionally for spot cleaning but they only clean the surface dirt. The best cleaning comes from a carpet cleaning appliance. The best appliances have several of the following features. Check each candidate you are considering and check to see if these features are important to you and if they are available with the unit you are purchasing.

  • Easy to fill reservoir - removable, light and/or comes with a portable measuring cup
  • Long enough cord OR Ample battery life for the job (if cordless)
  • Easy to lift (if applicable) and will reach the jobs you need done
  • Uses the supplies you want to use to clean your home

HOW TO CHOOSE

Ask yourself a few questions before deciding on the right machine for your needs.

Choosing between a hand held or upright model may be easier to determine by answering a few questions. Ask yourself how big is the job? Larger jobs may require an upright. If portability is a primary concern than it may be wise to choose from the hand held or lightweight upright models.

Consider the following:

  • Do you need a heavy duty machine?
  • Is the depth of the carpet low or high?
  • Do you need a lightweight machine?
  • Do you have pets indoors?
  • Do you have difficult high traffic areas?
  • How often do you rent a machine or hire a cleaning service?

Save money compared to carpet cleaner rentals or services -- Extend the life of your carpets and flooring with proper cleaning

I have a Bissell little green machine. No regrets. It's a great product that's very versatile. I use it in my RV to clean the carpet and soft furnishings. I love that it has a super long cord.
