Cats in Your Bath

Updated on June 27, 2015

Feline Themes in Bath Décor

This page is about adding a bit of cat décor to your powder room - NOT about felines in bathtubs. But wait! if you're looking for a tabby in the tub, you won't be disappointed.

I have just a little feline touch in one of my baths. In a niche above the tub are a couple of figurines that I picked up on a trip to Mexico. Aren't they cute?

For some folks, it's just a little touch like this that's needed. For others, though, it's a cat centered décor. Does that mean they are cray cat ladies? maybe. Maybe not.

In either case, look here, and find something you'll love.

Oh! And if you just want to see some cool videos, use this link to scroll down to the part of this article called "Cats in Bathtubs.", and take a break with a couple of fun videos.

Bold Feline Statements

Use larger items with cats on them to set the decorating tone for the room.

Shower Curtains - and Kitty Shower Curtain Hooks

Whether you want an eye popping shower curtain with a feline to fill a room, or just some little kitties to hold up a plain piece of plastic, you're in luck. Here are some of each.

Zowie! This is one attention getting cat shower curtain!

If you want to go bold, this big feline face will surely do that for you.

I'll dare anyone to ignore this bigger than life kitty cat.

Thank Sir Isaac Newton

If Fluffy has Her Own Door

Though we all know about Newton's famous work with little things like gravity. Then, there was the development of differential calculus. Oh, yes, and the laws of motion. That, too.

But, did you know that he is credited with developing else - a truly monumental innovation?

Yes, it was none other than Sir Isaac Newton who is said to have invented the cat door!

Now, there's something truly amazing!

Creative Bath Meow Bath Rug - with a Happy Look

It's a really fun shape, too.

Bathing Your Kitty

If you must bathe your kitty, know that, depending you your pet's disposition, it can be quite an undertaking. In some cases, it's simply not a one person job!

In any event, there are some things you absolutely should know before starting. Luckily, I've just run across a very helpful article written by a hubber named Jolou, who regularly bathes her cat Roxy, and knows how to do it the proper way.

In her article, she tells you about the do's and don'ts of kitty bathtime. So, before you start, you might want to avail yourself of How to Bathe a Cat.

PS - That's not Roxy in the picture, but one of her cousins.

Deco Breeze Decorative Figurine Fan - Beat Bathroom Heat with a Cat Fan

Does your bath sometimes feel a little hot and stuffy? Or need airing out a little?

Solve the problem with this ultra cute fan.

This adorable fan is a big cat sized 17.5" tall

Some Cats DO Like Water

Some cats actually like water, and even enjoy playing in it.

Turkish Vans, Manx, and Bengal Cats are breeds that actually tend to have an affinity for water.

Others (like Walker, Florida Feline) would much rather have a nice. soothing roll in the grass. He calls that a 'grass bath,' and believes it should exempt him from the kind using water.

Others, Not So Much

Some cats prefer a roll in the grass to a dip in the tub. Walker, Florida Feline, definitely prefers a 'grass bath.'

We are more dog people than cat people (and for that reason, I am adding a link to your lens to my lens on dog décor!). I enjoyed reading your lens and will come back when I want to shop for my cat loving friends!

Cute ideas -- love the toilet paper holder. Would have been fitting when I had a cat. The little darling used to unroll the toilet paper.

Cat lovers will love you for shopping far and wide for such a great selection of cat décor for the bathroom and, since I love color, I would pick the Persian Cat shower curtain. The videos are a nice touch for entertainment!

I like your cat décor selections, esp. the striped rug. Nice lens

The last time I had to bathe a cat it involved a skunk... The sounds coming from the cat being bathed sounded nothing like a cat at all. More like a small child screaming.

I, unfortunately, don't know anything about cats...

I don't bathe my cat, but he likes to jump into the tub after someone takes a shower and lap water from the bottom.

I have to close the door of the bathroom to prevent my cat to swim in the bath. She is Persian and to dry her after swimming takes to much time. Looks like there was a seal among her ancestors.
