Four Little Known Facts about the Craftmatic Adjustable Bed

Updated on October 28, 2015

Getting a good night’s rest is one of the most important factors of maintaining a well state of being. The place we choose to sleep and what we sleep on are both equally important and getting great sleep means being more energetic in the mornings and being able to wake up faster. A Craftmatic Adjustable Bed is known for its infomercial episodes but there are some facts about them which are not so apparent. Not everything is bad about them, but it’s good to know a lot about something before you make a final decision.

There are a few other beds on the market today which offer similar results and not quite the same features, however. Most do not allow as much bed adjustment in terms of folding upward. Typically, people tend to sit in chairs or on a sofa when they want to watch TV or sit down and relax while reading the Sunday paper. Our bedroom is a place for sleeping and if you truly want to get the best night’s sleep you have ever had, you should consider removing any TV from your bedroom and try sleeping in complete darkness.

Adjustable bed pricing can be relatively high when compared to the Craftmatic. This is because those other companies are trying to make a fortune off uninformed customers that don't spend the time to shop around. It is important to your health to invest in a product like this but equally important to get the best deal that you can. Many people have reviewed this and other similar beds and have come to the same conclusion: you just can't beat the price.

A good sign of Durability

One good thing about the bed is that it is quite durable.  The company that produces them has taken their time in designing the frame well and they back it by a one year warranty.  Most customers seem to have no problems even after the one year period in terms of nothing breaking. The Craftmatic adjustable bed mattress is also built for quality but is recommended to flip it over after you have used one side for over a year to ensure long life.  However, it may still not justify enough to consider purchasing one.

Can be noisy at times

The remote control is nice and either comes in a wired format or a wireless, depending on the model. When moving the bed from a flat position to a more upward position, it can be quite noisy. If you live in a particularly small home or have a sleeping partner the noise may wake them from a dead sleep. Also, consider that if you do have a sleeping partner, you probably wouldn’t want to adjust the bed anyway while they are asleep. Considering, if you wake up before your spouse and watch adjust it to watch TV, it would be a sure way to wake them up.

Not very practical for a Bed

It may be good for your health, but staying in bed all day watching TV, eating in bed, and all these activities in bed are typically not healthy.  Laziness can be a problem but honestly, it is not that hard to get up and move to the living room.  Small homes or apartments and having kids can make it all the more appealing to watch TV in your own room but using your bed a chair, and at the price of electric adjustable beds, is a quick way to waste some money.  Buy a comfortable chair or two for you room and you have essentially done the same thing for merely $80 if you shop online for an excellent deal.

Therapeutic Heating. Too good to be true?

Built in therapeutic heating may cause more discomfort that anything and can rack up the electric bill in a hurry.  Let alone the cost of the bed; if you’re looking for a cheap Craftmatic adjustable bed, than you may be out of luck.  The heat sounds very appealing at first, believe me, a nice warm bed sounds appealing to anyone.  It’s like your spouse laying in it for 4 hours every time before you lay in it. However, it takes time for it to warm up and if you were to count, about as long as it takes to fall asleep on a long work day.  Besides that, it can be quite uncomfortable once you do fall asleep.  If you are one to typically use a thick blanket or maybe two thinner blankets, you will find yourself throwing them off as you get too warm all of a sudden.  Then you will literally be steaming once your new electric bill comes in the mail after using that heater every night.

As mentioned, there are a few beds out there that are worth their price tag and to some, worth their weight in gold. The Craftmatic adjustable bed prices that you see on TV and in the newspaper are real and they have even better deals depending on what time of year it is. This is a big challenge for some because getting a good night's rest usually means breaking the bank. Sleep is a common problem nowadays and a bed jam-packed full of features is not, by any means, going to make that problem go away. A bed that can comfort you, like sleep number adjustable beds that allow you to set your own comfort level and really provide that custom fit bed which serves each person and their own unique bodies’ needs. Also, Tempurpedic beds are another great bed to choose. They offer a very unique material that was designed by NASA in space shuttle missions which is a revolutionary material that never mats down like other types of cushions.

Does anyone have a craftmatic dual queen bed. We each are 5'2" and weigh about 126 lbs. Do you think the dual queen (each side is 30 inches for a 60 x 800 bed will work for uS? We really don't have room for the dual king (39-80).

      Thanks for any input.
