Decorative Garden Sprinklers

Updated on July 1, 2014

Garden Sprinklers can be Fun and Functional

On a vacation in Wisconsin, my husband and I ran across some beautiful copper garden sprinklers. They were made in all types of shapes and sizes so we pulled off the rode and stopped to take a look. These sprinklers were very artistic and I'm sure they were worth the $200 plus dollars that they cost, but it was a bit more than we were willing to spend. Still, as we returned home we kept looking for those types of garden sprinklers. We thought perhaps we could find one that was not quite so pricey.

The next year, I was shopping at our local hardware store and came across some copper looking water sprinklers. When I saw the low price I knew they couldn't really be copper, but they were quite attractive and came in three different styles. I love butterflies so the butterfly style made it's way home to our backyard garden.

I've found these beautiful and functional sprinklers can be bought online. Perhaps one of them will make their way into your garden too!

Decorative - butterfly design

I love this beautiful butterfly garden sprinkler. We have had it for two years and it works great. I put it in the center of my backyard garden and it sprays out water for up to 30 feet. The two rings spin in opposite directions, which spreads the water all around the garden.

When I am not sprinkling the garden, the pretty copper plated butterfly design makes a lovely decoration in our garden. I love tools that are both decorative and functional.

This sprinkler comes in three designs: butterfly, dragonfly and hummingbird.

Fun in Garden Sprinkler - playing in the water

When my granddaughters came for a visit they loved playing in the garden sprinkler. Here they are posing for the camera with water sprinkling down their faces. Playing in water is a favorite pastime of the girls on a hot summer day.

Just for Fun

These garden sprinklers serve a dual purpose. They sprinkle the lawn with a bit water but also give hours of fun for the little ones who love to play out in the sprinklers. I know all four of my granddaughters would playing in these sprinklers. I always love something that has a dual purpose.

More DecorativeSpinners - pretty and functional

Here are three other similar garden sprinklers that I found online. They are a bit more costly than mine but they may suit your needs.

Practical Works Too

Decorative and fun sprinklers are great when you can use them, but sometimes you just need something practical. Here are two practical selections to fit your watering needs. The first is an oscillating style that will cover 2400 square feet and the second is a stationary circular sprinkler. It might work really great to sit in the middle of your garden on those hot, dry days in mid summer.

While I water my garden with buckets of water saved from the kitchen sink (all that hand, fruit and veg washing that would otherwise go to waste), if I did use a sprinkler I think it makes sense to have something beautiful to look at and fun to play with too. I like all the designs here.

I usually use soaker hoses so that I can conserve water, but I like the look of the decorative ones.

Garden sprinklers certainly have become decorative features that can add a little personality and are enjoyed by children and even wild life at play....humming birds seem to think they are provided just for their showers!
