Flags For Fun - Custom Made Flags - Decorative Flags and Mail Box Covers
Welcome to Flags For Fun!
While creating flags is something I've been doing for years, I have to admit I took a break from it for about a decade. I got involved in quilting, making green handbags and creating jewelry and just didn't have the time for everything. Of course, I was also raising kids and working full time. I literally had to cut back on something.
My husband and I recently moved back to North Carolina after the last child moved out of the house and have discovered that we now have extra time on our hands. What a wonderful thing to have!
So, yes, I've rediscovered why I loved creating custom made flags - they are just so much fun to see hanging outside the house!

I need to let you know that while I will make "similars", I will NOT make duplicates. I like knowing that when people buy my Flags For Fun flags, they can be confidant that they will never see their flag hanging outside someone elses house.

"Similar" Flags But Not Duplicates

As I mentioned above, while I will not make duplicate decorative flags, I will make "similars".
I may use the same basic template or pattern that I've created, but I'll change colors or a supporting item on the flag to ensure that there is enough difference in the custom made flag.
Here is an example that I think portrays quite well what I mean when I say I can make "similar" flags. The colors of the mittens, hat trim, and scarf are changed, plus the scarf pattern is completely different. The snow flakes are also completely unique on each one.

A Fun Sailboat Flag For A Beach House
Living near the beach, I get lots of requests for "beach" flags . . .
Here's the newest version of a sailboat flag featured on a bright blue background with whitecaps dancing on the water and the sails catching the wind. On this particular decorative outdoor flag, the letter "R" was monogrammed for personalization.
A Puddle Duck Flag For Fun
What A Sweet Spring Flag!
While this flag was actually made with a bought pattern, I changed enough of the pattern pieces to make it my own.
I've made a few of this duck flag and have made enough changes on every single one that I was comfortable with calling each a custom made one of a kind flag.
Isn't it the sweetest looking flag? It's one of my earlier favorites.
Flags are Fun For Small Businesses, Too!
Flags Are A Great Advertising Tool
Yes, the pineapple is a symbol for the word "Welcome" and makes a great greeter for a business.
This particular flag has space left open on the bottom of it until the business owner decides if he wants the name of his store or the word Welcome monogrammed on the bottom of the flag.

Here is another one of my favorites!
I was raised in Southern Maine right across from my grandparent's farm, so the sight of cows and a big barn were familiar sights for me. This one flag evoked many childhood memories when I hung it up and I still have it in the closet.
Yes, it comes out occasionally when we are not in a particular Holiday season where I have a seasonal flag out instead.
Sports Flags Can Be Fun, Too!
I have three sons so sports were a large part of their growing up. Each one of them chose a football team from a young age to cheer for on game day and they all wanted their team flags hanging on their bedroom walls.

I have a few flags that I've made in the past that featured a huge capital letter as the main part of the flag. Add some embellishment and the client was thrilled with the end result.

Not everyone wants a flagpole in front of their house and some just don't want a large flag.
I have a solution to that and it's called "mailbox covers"!!!!!
Yes, I make a small flag-like version for your mailbox (I make them to fit the standard postal mailbox size) in the color and simple design that you'd like for only $20!
They are made of the same durable and color fast fabric as the larger 3'x5' flags and will look great covering your mailbox.
