I wish that more people will consider that the Earth is a wonderful place to live in, and we should do everything to keep it as beautiful as we possible can.
We should all do what we can to make this fantasy into a reality
Well if you want to do all that you can, and 'all' is the keyword there, then you could start by pressing this button....
Every one of our actions have some sort of environmental impact, even breathing, it annoys me to see people make these general sweeping statements with no substance.
I am aware of my environmental impacts. Recently a man gave me a lecture in the pub about the environment after I admitted that I am slack with recycling. At the end of the night he got into the biggest rust bucket of a Land Rover I have ever seen, it must have done 15 miles to the Gallon.
If you want to do 'all' that you can to minimise your impacts, then I am afraid that electronics are out of the question.... Personally I favour technological progression, such as much more energy efficient products and further progress in the field of hybrid cars etc., as well as products which can be continually upgraded without disposal.
Heinlein had it right;
"Let me rest my eyes
on the fleecy skies,
and the cool green hills of earth!"
It's sad when I hear people make the statement, we will leave it to the younger generation to clean up the mess? After we made the mess were in, now we depend on our children to clean it up? How sad.
I've always wanted to buy up several acres and convert it into a private park and wildlife reserve. Perhaps one day.
All one has to do is go out and do it! It starts by picking up one piece of trash, by planting one tree, by walking one mile, rather than driving. Some obscure person once wrote "a journey of a thousand miles, start with but a single step"!
Each of us can take that first step and it will help us all.
I agree, it all starts from one little step. That quote was from the Chinese philosopher Lao-tzu.
very true. it is part of personal responsibility and stewardship.
it starts with caring.
It's unfortunate that many people don't stop to appreciate the natural support system under their feet and all around them. They're too busy with manufactured amusements (including this computer ), and personal, petty concerns. These other matters have taken on too much importance for many people.
They need to get out in the natural world..smell the flowers, marvel at the majestic swaying trees. Listen to the birds chirping. They're all around you if you stop, look and listen.
It also requires a different mindset of being kind to the earth. Like avoiding wasteful packaging on purchased goods, where possible. Recycling anything you can, again where possible. Walk or cycle instead of driving, especially for short trips or minimal shopping necessities. It's not that difficult..really. Just a change in attitude and habits.
It all starts with you, doing those little things. It makes a huge difference in the big picture. Now go for a walk..relax.
ryankett is correct when he posits the impossibility of doing "all" that you can to limit your impact on the earth.
Instead, if a majority of people were to pay attention to lots of smaller things, like the type of bag used at the grocery store, energy efficiency of home electronics like heating and lighting, etc. then we could probably affect some reasonable change.
Many see the world as packed with humans, the truth is, here in the U.S there are still many many places that are still just as they've been for perhaps thousands of years. You see it in places like Washington State, Oregon, Wyoming, Texas I could go on.
You can help save the earth by only adding solar powered products to your every day life. Two ways are solar powered gate openers and homemade solar panels. I have done my part by adding them both hope you do yours. Want to know more visit my profile for solar gates or how to build a solar panel.

I found this video by Jesse Ventura--I'll have to say the footage is disturbing. What is your opinion on this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADC9-zWq … re=related
