What colors are pleasing to you? Warm colors excite and draw attention, whereas cool colors invite you to slow down and relax. Placing a cool-colored solar fountain in your garden will also encourage you to stop and enjoy the sights and sounds. Picture yourself lying on a cozy garden lounger near your beautifully landscaped garden on a warm sunny afternoon and perhaps reading a book. It is there that you can enjoy listening to the sounds of birds visiting your solar birdbath fountain, and the sights of butterflies hovering over a Purple Rooster Bee Balm bush, or a Blue Butterfly Delphinium plant. Placing a bird feeder near a fountain will further encourage the birds to visit.

Attracting Birds and Butterflies

Birds are attracted to the falling water of a fountain. Smaller ceramic solar fountains, with a spouting animal at the helm, are perfect for those robins, bluebirds and warblers looking to preen. You could surround this smaller fountain with Green Envy Coneflowers and Limerock Passion Coreopsis plants.

Fountains in the Evening

You might want to enjoy your garden in the evening. That’s no problem with a Solar-On-Demand fountain. These water fountains with a twist have the ability to store energy from the sun during the day so that the fountain can be used at night. Along with some solar garden stakes, or other type of garden lighting, your garden can be enjoyed during the evening hours. Some cool-colored plants include: The blue-flowering Bellflower, Nikko Blue Hydrangea, and Baby Lilac shrubs.

More Cool-Colored Plants

Cascading style solar fountains are 4-tiered, rest in a metal stand, and are available in 18 different color finishes. The continuous water flow produces a pleasing tone, and it will attract some feathered friends. Cupid’s Dart is a bright blue perennial that will fit into a cool-colored sun garden. Other ideas include: Dark Blue Scabiosa, Black Magic Hollyhock and May Night Salvia.

Accessory Choices

Choosing a color scheme for your garden can help you begin planning what types of plants and shrubs you would like to grow. There are so many different types of garden accessories that will further beautify your garden and truly make it a comfortable, relaxing place to frequent. Solar fountains are the solution to a water feature need. They are portable, lightweight and do not require any electrical source. Garden stakes, statuary, benches, and rocks are other important accents to consider adding to create the perfect outdoor space.

What a great idea solar fountains! I never got a fountain for my backyard because I don't like the idea of an extension cord crossing over to reach it, solar is brilliant! Thanks for sharing. :)
