Garden Sculpture Ideas

Contemporary Stone Garden Art Sculpture

Max Nowell's journey into dry stone sculpture started with farming where he repaired dry-stone field walls. He later left farming and took up walling full-time. He has worked with the world renowned Andy Goldsworthy, and has exhibited in galleries in Scotland and England. He writes, "My work gives the same stone a chance to express its life more immediately. Whether it is a sinuous carving of a knotted rope or an imposing dry-stone sculpture representing an egg or a seed, the ever-changing play of light and weather on the rough-textured surfaces provides endless interest, and the slow changes wrought by mosses, lichen, insects and birds only add to the richness of the piece." This archaic-looking, yet contemporary garden sculpture is a real show stopper.

Carved Outdoor Wall Art

Buddha Wall Panel for Outdoors

A large sculptural wood picture with a carving of Buddha with eyes serenely closed, in a reflective moment. It really adds the finishing touches to this tropical patio area. This large tropical Asian garden art can be hung or left leaning against the exterior wall. This a picture of an outdoor patio in Bali, Indonesia.

Unique Tall Trellises for Flowering Vines

Bougainvillea Vines in a Mushroom Trellis

Have you ever wanted a flowering vine or rose bush that makes a real statement in your garden? These Bougainvillea trellises are so stunningly beautiful, you could definitely call them flower garden art. Why not build a trellis for either Bougainvillea vines, climbing Roses or other flowering vines, like stunningly vibrant, orange Trumpet vines! The Bougainvillea vine in the foreground, contained in this unique concept, is encircled by a Mushroom trellis. This flowering vine is best grown in warm climates so that it can continue to vine out and grow taller. I bring mine in during the Winter months and early Spring and take it out after May 21st, but it would never be able to grow tall like these beauties. It's a thorny, woody vine, that branches out and its top leaves turn into these vibrant, yet lovely bright Pink, almost Fuchsia Pink leaves that appear like flowers, while the little white flowers, that almost look like stamens, are the actual flower. ~ Bougainvillea Mushroom Trellises © fabfotos - Fotolia.com

As you can see from the grouping of three Bougainvillea trellises, and the patio and chairs in the background, how huge and tall these appear. Clearly these extraordinary trellises will provide plenty of ambiance and shade and the Wow factor!

Water Bearer in Garden

I actually like this type of garden art because it is rather unexpected to find a statue standing by a stream pouring water and she is thoroughly enchanting. One might want to sit and gaze and while away the time. It would also be a wonderful spot for a shady picnic on hot summer days. Just listening to water pouring out of a fountain into a stream can be very relaxing.

Moose Sculpture

Southwestern Outdoor Garden Art

Intriguing metal statue of what appears to be a Moose. This is a whimsical Southwestern garden sculpture. It depicts a native North American Indian dance with the animal spirits. It is a copper sculpture at a tourism center in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This would be a great sculpture for a fishing lodge or hunting lodge.

Garden designing seems easily but it is not like that. Designing contain so many things like types of tree, space, color, which type of garden you want. You can use artificial fence for decoration and if you are a creative person you can plot your own ideas. Garden Design London- surly your own idea will be great.

The concept of garden art seems to be as old a civilization, its such a wonderful idea. I love the rustic ones that you have hear, and the concept of junk art. I haven't tried to make anything myself, but perhaps I will try some of the books you suggest and give it a go.
