Hoover Platinum Lightweight Upright With Canister Review

Updated on September 27, 2014

Hoover Platinum Lightweight Upright Vacuum with Canister Review

This is my absolute favorite vacuum cleaner because it is extremely light, has a canister as well as an upright and lots of great cleaning features. Not the least of the advantages is the price. The Hoover Platinum UH30010COM is a runaway bestseller for cleaners of this type.

There's no denying that heavy uprights can be hard on the back, especially if you have a large area to clean, but at less than 12 pounds it has easy maneuverability and is light enough to carry in one hand up and down stairs. It's fabulous for hardwood floors and great for stairs.

I like having the option of using the canister for quick cleanups and for jobs that need a wand - such as light fittings and curtains. The belt makes it easy to carry over my shoulder while leaving hands free to use the wand.

This vacuum cleaner has some fabulous features and the fact that it comes with a canister option as well really extends the operation. Uprights generally are restricted to basically cleaning the floor but this one has wands and attachments for cleaning most household areas. Great buy at this price!

Why The Hoover Platinum Canister is a Winner

The great thing about the canister is that it's really portable and has a good capacity. You take the on-board tools wherever you go, so if you happen to be upstairs you don't need to run down to the base unit to get a bare-floor brush or a crevice tool etc.

Five Good Reasons I've Voted This The Best Vacuum Cleaner

If you have small children around you'll know that vacuuming is more than a weekly chore. I really appreciate the dual functionality of the Hoover Lightweight UH30010COM. Uprights alone are great for thick carpet and large areas of floor but this model covers just about every cleaning angle in the house. No need to buy a separate machine for those quick cleanup jobs.

1.Hoover's patented Windtunnel Technology

Suction has to be the most important feature of a vacuum cleaner. Strong cleaning suction makes vacuuming a breeze!

2.Easy-change bag traps all dirt

Bag is self-sealing and prevents dust puffs escaping when you need to replace it. No messy emptying. Just seal and throw away.

3.Tired of dragging a heavy upright around?

No problem. This light weight model makes vacuuming an easy task.

4.Automatic height adjustment for different floor types.

Bare floors with scatter rugs - hardwood areas - thick carpet? This one takes everything in its stride without you having to adjust the height of the brushes.

5.Handy hard floor tool for quick cleanups.

This canister attachment is great for cleaning up spills and crumbs etc. on bare floors.

Two Things You Have To Live With

In a perfect world there would be no gripes but although the Hoover Platinum Lightweight is the best in my opinion there are a couple of things I need to mention.

1.Storage Space Required

If you are short on storage space it would be better to go for an upright with less options. You need storage space for the upright, canister, hose and wands.

2.Canister Power

I love the fact that this machine is both upright and canister but you need to be aware that the canister may not be as powerful as straight canister model vacuums in the higher price range.
