Updated on August 8, 2013

Hot water bottle covers make a fun cuddly bed time addition

Hot water bottle covers come in all shapes and sizes and when I was a small boy, the hot water bottle was an absolute must have during the winter. In todays modern house holds, with double glazing, insulation and central heating, the hot water bottle seems to have fallen out of favour.

Hot water bottle were a part of growing up and every night we would wait for the bottle to be filled up and put into it cover. Mine was a bear and it lasted for years and I can remember not wanting to go to be without it.It got to the point where my mum would even fill the hot water bottle with coller water in the warmer months.

Why bother with a hot water bottle?

Use it for those cold nights and for those hot, stuffy summer nights!

You might think that there's no point in having a hot water bottle with todays central heating and so on. For me and my children there will always be a space in the bedroom for a cuddly hot water bottle. Apart from being something warm on a cold winters night, the cover of the hot water bottle protects the user from the hot surfac of the bottle.

It's more than that as children love their soft cuddly toys and the covers turn the hot water bottle into the cuddly toy of their choice, with the addd bonus of it being warm.

The hot water bottle becomes a thing of comfort, something to suggle up to and fall alseep.

Believe it or not, you can also stay cool with a hot water bottle. It might sem odd, but just fill the bottle with cool water on really hot muggy nights and you will be surprised as to how nice it can be.

Hot water bottles are not a thing of the past

Cute and cuddly for all ages!

Hot water bottles are not just what your grandmother used to use. They can be fun, cute, warm, cool and ofer real comfort for the young ones at bed time. They still get a thumbs up from me and my children nand cetainly will for years to come.

No matter hot well your house is insulated, or what double glazing you have, it's always a lovely feeling to feel the hot water bottle on your toes at night and the little ones love to cuddle up to them.

I've never used one. Not sure what I would use it for. Same as a heating pad?
