How to Fold Fitted Sheets
If I learned how, you can too!
I went 42 years frustrated at the fact that I couldn't fold a fitted sheet. But now, I can fold a fitted sheet like a pro! What's so bad is that once I learned how, it's so easy!
When I was in my 20's, I didn't care if the sheets were folded or not. To be honest, I was pretty lucky just to have clean sheets! (Laundry was never my thing. I used a nearby wash-n-fold service.) But I've changed a lot in the past twenty years. I'm divorced now (she didn't know how to fold fitted sheets either). I appreciate folded sheets more. I do my own laundry too.
There I was, folding laundry as usual. I always fold the pillow cases first, they're easy. Then I fold the sheets, towels, washcloths, etc. Always putting off the fitted sheets to last. My nemesis. Just something about looking into my closet and seeing nicely folded sheets next to a wadded mess of a fitted sheet that drove me crazy.
I decided then; No more! I went to my computer and searched Google for instructions on "how to fold fitted sheets." I watched a video. It can't be that easy. I tried it. It worked. I'm no longer afraid of the fitted sheet. In fact, I fold them first now, just to show them who's the boss.
Below are two videos that I found that day that changed my life (and the condition of my closet) forever!
How to Fold a Fitted Sheet Like a Pro - The Double Fold Method
This is the very first video that I watched. I was amazed at just how easy it is to fold fitted sheets. Well, when you know how. But really, isn't everything like that? It's always easier when you know how!
My favorite part about the video? It's a guy! Video proof that we guys can be good in the home too.
How to Fold A Fitted Sheet - The Triple Fold Method
This is the second video I watched. This technique is slightly different than the previous method in that it incorporates a triple fold method instead of the double fold.
I'm a little loath to admit it, but I prefer the triple fold method over the double. I'm reluctant to admit that I think her folding looks neater than his. But then, I bet his folding is much better than most women's. She just happens to be a fitted sheet folding diva!
Egyptian Cotton Sheet Sets
I bought a set of 600tc Egyptian cotton sheets several years ago. They were expensive, but worth it! The prices for these sheets have come way down since I bought that first set. I only buy 600tc or higher Egyptian cotton sheets now. They really do feel incredible. And I'm worth it!
Now You Know How to Fold Fitted Sheets - Now to master the Japanese t-shirt fold...
I spent years in needless frustration because I could never fold fitted sheets. The answer was so simple.
Is knowing how to fold fitted sheets going to change your life?

If life isn't full of little ironies already, here are the actual instructions that came inside a set of sheets.
Japanese T-shirt Folding - Incredible t-shirt folding method from Japan
Since we were talking about folding fitted sheets...
I saw this video years ago. I think I watched it 20 times to figure out how they fold that t-shirt so quickly and so perfectly. I tried it. It worked. I still fold my shirts the old fashion way. I'm just a rebel.
How To Make A T-Shirt Ninja Mask - Fun FYI
Ok, I've gotten a little off track here, but since we were on t-shirts...
I saw a video like this a long time ago. It's pretty cool. Hey, make you a Ninja mask and wear it while folding your fitted sheets and t-shirts! Your spouse won't know what to think...
How to Fold a Shirt - Flip Fold - Fun Folding Gizmo
Getting a little bit back on track. I saw the commercial for the Flip Fold a few years ago. I admit it, it sounds interesting. I've never used one, but I'd like to try. I have my own method of folding t-shirts, but they don't always come out perfectly folded; sometimes a little off center. Yes, it bothers me. I would love to have perfectly folded t-shirts and fitted sheets.
I'm going to have to find someone that has one and get them to let me borrow it. This is just one of those items that I'd have to try before I buy. I do a decent job already, but if it can do it perfectly every time, I'm there!
