I've Fallen In Love With Our Own Candle Company

Nightcat is a Jane of all trades and likes to pass on tips she’s found useful around the home.

For me, nothing says fall like a scented jar candle. And when it comes from Our Own Candle Company everything about it reminds me of the festive season that stretches from Halloween until Thanksgiving. There are the scents I love for fall like caramel pecan and snickerdoodle that fill my entire home with the pleasing scent of freshly-baked pastries.

There is the jar itself, a mason jar with a handle that reminds me of hot apple cider, bonfires and hay rides. And the flame reminds me of a fireplace to snuggle up in front of as the days grow coll and crisp autumn leaves crunch underfoot. I even like that it has a sturdy screwtop lid, ideal for using an emptied candle for storage later, no more spilling crafting supplies! Plus, painted with a simple scene it would make a charming addition to my home décor.

I found these wonderful candles on Amazon, because like everyone else I'm looking for the best value in a tough economy. I was skeptical at first, but they really do offer a clean burn that leaves no wax, and a generous hundred hour burn time. Which, if you follow the suggested burn time of three hours or less means you get over thirty days use out of each candle.

Yes, I have burned them longer than three hours and they performed wonderfully then as well. And at these wonderful prices most shoppers could afford more than one candle a month, though price may vary depending on the scent you choose. But compared to some very expensive candles I've bought (I'm always the first one to buy limited edition ones) I was very pleased.

And with the price difference I could pick up two or three of these candles for the price of one high end candle. So what other features did I enjoy? Each candle has a wick holder you remove before burning and I enjoyed this feature. We've all bought candles where the wick migrated during shipping, but these wicks stay exactly centered.

The handle is a nice feature as well and allows for easy transport of a lit candle. Because if you are like me you remember the table needs cleaned after the candle is lit, or the power went out and you need a light source because all your flashlights are dead, or you even want to work some romance into your life.

Plus design is very important to me, and the candle makers even included a removable label so these candles can go from country to chic to city in an instant. The best feature? The scents! They are spot on for what they are called and although they do scent your home with only one candle it isn't overpowering or cloying.

And on Amazon I can find an amazing range of these scents for fall, not just snickerdoodle and caramel pecan but wonderful temptations like pumpkin spice, apple cinnamon vanilla, a triple scent for fall and many more. Don't like seasonal scents? Try a soothing lavender for the bedroom or balsam pine all year round to lift your spirits.

So you get aromatherapy, the soothing glow of the candle flame, even a basis for candle magic if you so desire, and yes, I do indeed put these on the ritual altar as well. I'm looking forward to placing my next order (although I already ordered enough of these candles to last a while) and can wait to try the other exciting scents in this line.

The fabled scent that makes men go all romantical. Seriously, it does indeed work. Savvy real estate agents will burn these candles in the kitchen to snare a sale since the thought of romance will entice male buyers.

These wonderful candles come in a wide variety of scents, though I'll still be getting mine on Amazon since my travel costs would negate any discount this shopper got. Plus, trust me, free shipping to your door? On candles? Priceless!

My stash of candles for fall! Oh, Squidoo asked me to remind you that credit for this photo and the background image for this lens goes to me.

I think the hot buns scent would get me in the mood for making some real cinnamon buns. Nice idea and 100 hours is a long lifespan for a candle.

I've never heard of "Our Own Candle Company." I bet the caramel pecan candle is a wonderful scent.
