Lead Crystal Vases Make Great Wedding and Housewarming Gifts for Almost Anyone!
Can't Decide What to Give as a Housewarming or Wedding Gift?
Why I Give Crystal Vases for Housewarming and Wedding Gifts
When I was a Realtor for more than a decade, I helped buyers purchase dozens of homes. At the happy conclusion of each sale, a day or two after the buyers moved into their new home, I would drop by for a visit and present them with a housewarming gift.
During my first few years as a Realtor, choosing the right housewarming gift was often one of the most difficult decisions that I had to make. It made me realize that I knew very little about how the clients lived, their home décor preferences, or their favorite colors. Did they collect antiques or did they prefer modern furnishings? Were they into the rich jewel tones of burgundy and hunter green, or did they like neutral colors like white or beige?
In addition, I had no idea what kitchen appliances they might want. Would that young couple want a blender or a slow cooker. Would the retired couple want a nicknack? It was always so hard to decide.
Frequently, I would spend an hour or two wandering around the housewares section of a department store, trying to choose something that I thought my clients would enjoy owning.
Finally, I had an epiphany! I began to purchase lovely lead crystal vases for my clients as their housewarming gifts. Crystal vases are usually clear (although you can find tinted crystal, as well). Best of all, I could purchase them on the spur of the moment from a local department store or buy them in advance online and have them gift-wrapped and delivered within a few days, which saved me a lot of work.
Another advantage was that crystal vases, both online and from stores, were available in a variety of price ranges, which made it easy for me to find something I could afford to give and that I thought my clients would appreciate. This allowed me to gear my gift to price of the home I just sold.
When I ordered my gifts online, I would still drop by to see my clients, secure in the knowledge that the online merchant had efficiently handled the details of getting the gift to my clients. I didn't have to stockpile vases at my home or spend time shopping in stores, which was particularly stressful during the busy spring home-buying season.
The nice thing about crystal vases is that they go with any color scheme. Although you can purchase crystal that has been tinted a color, I always chose clear ones. If I knew that a client had a preference for modern or traditional décor, I would order them a vase in that style. If I wasn't sure, I would stick with something simple and elegant.
Best of all, I received wonderful feedback from my clients stating how much they loved their new vases. Often they said it was something they had always wanted, but had never purchased for themselves. As you read through this article, you will see some of my personal favorite choices ... although there are hundreds, if not thousands, of other designs available.
Waterford Crystal Vases Are My Favorite Gift Choices
Waterford was one of my favorite brands. It is a well recognized name and, on several occasions, I discovered that my clients already owned a few items of Waterford crystal and that they were thrilled to get an additional item.
Waterford is also available in a variety of prices, with some of the smaller vases quite affordable. In addition, you can often find Waterford vases on sale, both online and in stores, which sometimes made it possible for me to purchase an especially nice vase at a reasonable price.
Shown above is one of my favorite Waterford crystal vases.

This Waterford Vases Has Become My Favorite Gift to Give
This is one of my favorite Waterford crystal vases to give as a housewarming gift. It is affordable, elegant and goes well with a variety of home decor preferences. It is simple enough for contemporary decor, but the cut crystal design also goes well in more traditional homes. This design is also available in other sizes.
Tips for Giving Vases to People
Eventually, after giving my clients a number of these vases, I had another epiphany. Instead of ordering these and having them shipped directly to my clients, I had a few shipped to me so I always had one online.
Even better, instead of gift wrapping them, I would stop by the grocery store or Farmer's Market and pick up a bouquet of fresh cut flowers. Handing someone a lovely crystal vase full of flowers and telling them, "keep the vase ... it's for you," is a memorable way to give someone a gift! They loved it.
Although I no longer sell real estate, I continue to give friends and family members crystal vases and similar crystal and cut-glass items as housewarming gifts and wedding presents. In fact, since I generally know the home décor preferences of my friends, I am even more qualified to make a choice that is appropriate for them ... whether they would prefer something ornate or sleek and modern. While I still sometimes have the vases gift-wrapped mailed directly to the recipient, especially for a wedding, I still love to fill them with flowers and give them directly to the hostess at a housewarming party. My gift is often the one that is proudly set in the center of the table immediately!
I still tend to order my vases from online sites, as well, whether I have them shipped to me or directly to the recipient. After all, it is hard to beat their prices and selection, and I don't have to spend hours shopping, wrapping and mailing my gifts. It is also the ideal way to handle gifts for out-of-town weddings. If I want to be especially generous, say for a close friend's wedding, I will sometimes send them an affordable Waterford vase and a gift certificate to their favorite department store, as well.
Of course, when I am buying gifts for so many different friends, I don't always stick to just Waterford crystal vases. I frequently use other brands, especially Lenox (see below). They also have some beautiful choices at affordable prices and it gives me a little more variety in my choices.
Lenox Crystal Vases
As mentioned above, Lenox is another manufacturer of attractive crystal vases at affordable prices. These are vases you will be proud to give, but they won't cost you an extravagant amount of money. At the same time, they will be appreciated by anyone who loves to have fresh cut flowers in their home.
They also come in a variety of styles, from vases for the traditionalist to vases for the lover of modern art and architecture.
