Vivaldi Four Seasons -Spring

Everything Spring - Warmth and new life In spring- young children will love

Everything Spring (Picture the Seasons)
Everything Spring (Picture the Seasons)
Beautiful photographs and writing about everything spring. Especially suitable for young children to learn about the warmth and life of springtime, baby chicks, rabbits and the other delights of Spring!

Why Do I Love Spring?

Spring is one of my fave seasons running closely with Autumn. I love Spring for its vibrancy and freshness, its sense of hope of new life and love. I always feel like Spring is the beginning of the year for me. In January I do not feel like making changes or new things but in Spring I feel raring to go!

Being brought up in the country Spring is always about new life as well, lambing, foals being born and so on. I don t live so rural now but I always look for that and love to watch all the new life.

After the quiet and stillness of winter everything in Spring seems to be busy, the birds rushing around, the shoots comng up and the first spring flowers opening their blooms showing off thier beauty.

Even though it is often still very cold these sights warm the heart and with the longer hours of daylight lift my spirits. I am outside as much as possible and I Love it!!

I think that no matter how old or infirm I may become, I will always plant a large garden in the spring. Who can resist the feelings of hope and joy that one gets from participating in nature's rebirth?

Spring Flowers

These Elephants ears live in our garden and are one of the first signs of Spring for us.

A beautiful pink blossom coating the ground, these hardy plants cover ground where other flowers do not grow well and they look lovely.

In our garden they defy any frost or even light snow to flower their hearts out. At other times of year they are not so much to look at but in Spring they glory in their beauty.

April Birthday For A Foal!

The Joy Of A Foal In Spring

Here is a wonderful mare and foal that live near us. Arent they gorgeous!

We have a field near us that usually has horses grazing in it. There are often three or four horses there and they are lovely and very friendly.

Every couple of years we are lucky enough to have foal born and once it is old enough and assuming the weather is not too cold, the owner has it out in the field with its mum to enjoy the outdoors.

The foals are simply adorable and although shy they do come up with their mum to see us. There is nothing so beautiful in Spring as seeing a long leggy beautiful foal wandering off with its mum then feeding from her.

Spring Baby Animals

Spring is a time for many animals to give birth.

This book is a great way for children to learn about baby animals.

It has lovely pictures and text to help children learn.

Nothing is so beautiful as Spring-

When weeds, in wheels, shoot long and lovely and lush;

Thrush's eggs look little low heavens, and thrush

Through the echoing timber does so rinse and wring

The ear, it strikes like lightning to hear him sing.

Gerald Manley Hopkins

Birds Nesting In Our Garden In Springtime

In Spring our garden suddenly becomes alive with chittering, chirping birds.

All manner of different species of birds displaying to each other in their courtship. Singing from the highest branches to show their beauty.

Some fight it out in the hedgerow for nest sites, build their own nest near our home, or in the eaves of our home. A few brave ones nest very close to our gate and we are forever having to so careful when we walk by.

Any small sticks or garden clippings are seen soon in birds beaks great nesting material for them. We leave grass clippings and twigs for them to use all over the garden.

Later we see the pairs brooding the eggs, carefully treasuring the next generation. Then if we are very lucky we see or more often hear the brand new chicks as they are hatched.

It is a very magical time in our garden which we adore and treasure.

The Spring by Thomas Carew

Now that the winter’s gone, the earth hath lost

Her snow-white robes; and now no more the frost

Candies the grass, or casts an icy cream

Upon the silver lake or crystal stream:

But the warm sun thaws the benumbed earth,

And makes it tender; gives a sacred birth

To the dead swallow; wakes in hollow tree

The drowsy cuckoo and the humble-bee.

Now do a choir of chirping minstrels bring,

In triumph to the world, the youthful spring:

The valleys, hills, and woods in rich array

Welcome the coming of the long’d-for May.

Now all things smile: only my love doth lower,

Nor hath the scalding noon-day sun the power

To melt that marble ice, which still doth hold

Her heart congeal’d, and makes her pity cold.

The ox, which lately did for shelter fly

Into the stall, doth now securely lie

In open fields; and love no more is made

By the fire-side, but in the cooler shade

Amyntas now doth with his Chloris sleep

Under a sycamore, and all things keep

Time with the season: only she doth carry

June in her eyes, in her heart January.

Cute Ducklings In Spring

It is one of life's pleasures to go to the pond in Springtime and see the ducklings.

To me they are so sweet, so adorable and really fun to watch. I can easily watch them for hours and their antics make me smile and laugh.

From fluffy coats and amazingly fast little legs they gradually grow through inquisitive adolescence. Happy to wander right near our feet having learned from an early age that humans usually being and share food very easily with them!

A cute book for young children with a lovely spring story that will surely be a treasured memory for your child. It is lovely to get children interested in wildlife and nature and the changing seasons as young as possible in the hope that they will treasure this beautiful earth and all its creatures when they grow up.

Vibrant Spring Flowers!

Pretty Poppies

These vibrant , gorgeous Spring poppies in my garden warm the heart!

After the dullness of some winter weather when its damp cold and wet to see flowers burst forth in vibrant colours is very uplifting.

The vibrant red against the striking green is so springlike yet strangely evocative of the colours many of us decorate our hones with at winter, red and green being traditional winter and Christmas themes. Yet here in the Spring garden there is no mistaking the vigour and life and new beginnings.

They shout " look at me " and forget about winter. They make us smile and we feel hope for warmer times.

To Spring by William Blake

O thou with dewy locks, who lookest down

Through the clear windows of the morning, turn

Thine angel eyes upon our western isle,

Which in full choir hails thy approach, O Spring!

The hills tell one another, and the listening

Valleys hear; all our longing eyes are turn’d

Up to thy bright pavilions: issue forth

And let thy holy feet visit our clime!

Come o’er the eastern hills, and let our winds

Kiss thy perfumèd garments; let us taste

Thy morn and evening breath; scatter thy pearls

Upon our lovesick land that mourns for thee.

O deck her forth with thy fair fingers; pour

Thy soft kisses on her bosom; and put

Thy golden crown upon her languish’d head,

Whose modest tresses are bound up for thee.

Magnolia Blooming Into Life In Spring!

In the winter our magnolia tree has bare branches. In the spring she bursts in to life, not with leaf buds but with buds of soft pink opening up to huge beautiful blooms.

As the blooms fade over the course of a few weeks then we get the leaves. The blooms are short lived but oh so worth waiting for and enjoying while they are here.

Sometimes we just admire, other times I will take a single bloom and place it in a dish of water where it makes a wonderful table center piece.

Here is a close up of a cluster of blooms.

We love this gorgeous iris spring flower and look forward to her appearance each late spring.

Very nice lens, 5*****. Yesterday we went for a walk in the New Forest. Heard cuckoos, the Magnolia was in bloom, Rhododendrons about to come out, Gorse fully out in bright yellow, and we also happened upon about 30 deer, including 2 white ones. I love the springtime, the flowers and blossoms are beautiful.

Great 5* lens. I've been in our garden this morning, the first daffodils are showing and the yellow primroses are virtually out, the buds are on the bushes and trees - perfect! I'm in the south west of England and it's lovely at this time of year.

Fresh air after the rain, the particular bright greeny-yellow glow of shooting sprouts and budding leaves, surging purple and yellow tips of crocuses through the icy soil, daffodils, red Emporer tulips. Lilacs! Oh, the air scented with English violets and lilacs in every shade and tint of purple. Children's voices lilting from the schoolyard. Robins and baby geese. Thundershowers and dark, glowering clouds, followed by winds that take the breath from your nostrils. Rainbows and hot sun drying everything out except the puddles that are still fun to stomp. Orchards radiating pink, purple and white light so brilliant you can hardly bear to look. Don't get me started. Oh. I guess you did. ;o)
