Best Cart for the Gardener | Mac Sports Collapsible Utility Wagon

Updated on September 16, 2013

Transport Made Easy

When I was young, wagons were as clunky as they were useful. Made of wood or metal, they did not fold or transport well. And if you were a kid riding in one, they were too hot or too cold, hard and uncomfortable. Much better options exist today, and they are no longer just for kids. Wagons are now made of soft, polyester material that is durable and cleans up nicely. They are able to hold heavy weight for hauling and models exist with all-terrain wheels. One of the best features is greater portability due to collapsible frames.

My husband recently researched wagons and purchased the Mac Sports Utility Wagon for my birthday. It has been one of the best gifts that I have ever received. It has gotten hours of use, trucking supplies to and from the classes that I teach and rolling home from the grocery store when I have the energy to walk. I can even transport 50 lb bags of feed easily from my van to the chicken coop. My children use the cart, as well. Because it is lightweight and simple to use, they are able to operate the opening and closing mechanism quickly and safely.

Best Wagon for the Gardener

I have used several types of garden carts over the years at The Micro Farm Project. This particular cart has features that have made it an indispensable tool for daily use.

UPDATE

I have been using this cart for a year and a half now, and it is still going strong! It gets pulled around my farm, carting garden and animal supplies. It stands up to large bags of feed, and washes up easily when it gets dirty. I teach classes all over the Valley, and the cart goes with me to transport supplies. It is lightweight and it opens and closes easily, making it much more transportable than other carts that I own. People often comment positively on it, and want to know where I got it. I can honestly say that I would recommend this cart, and I like it more now than I did when I first received it as a gift.

MLM works and is the vehicle rpinosslbee for helping many people on the road to find financial independence, typically within 2-5 years. There is, however, much confusion and misunderstanding concerning this business model. A pyramid scheme has no real product so commissions are based on bringing new people into the scheme who in turn also bring new people into the scheme. It's usually the people at the top that get the most while those at the bottom get very little. Eventually all pyramid schemes collapse because there is no real product being sold.MLM, on the other hand, usually has a very real product that is sold either by retail or through members personal purchases (usually both). Members are encouraged to build a network of distributors to market the product. In MLM you can earn more than those at the top if you apply some effort. In a pyramid scheme you can never earn more than those above you, so when investigating an MLM company see if you can find out if there are people earning more than their sponsors, (this is the crucial test to weed out pyramid schemes)

I need to get one of these! I'm tired of lugging big bags of mulch and topsoil around. One thing I'd love to see on this lens in the future is some photos of your wagon in action!

This looks like a great product. Storage is my main problem and this could help.

@mbgphoto: Thanks for the tip.Since I can't really cut the photo square, I will paste it to a square, white background and upload it again. As for the cart, I love the collapsible feature, too. The cart gets lots of mileage around our farm and the nursery where I teach.

I love the collapsible feature. It is always a problem finding space to store garden tools...this will make it easy. Excellent review..just a tip..if you make your intro photo square 250x250 it would give this lens a good chance to be featured on the home page of Squidoo.
