Miracle-Gro AeroGarden Ultra

Updated on December 6, 2014

I have never been one that is known for a green thumb and in fact I have very few plants in my home. So when I decided that I wanted to grow a few herbs indoors I needed to find something that would make it simple and that the plants would have a chance to survive!

So I went looking for a kit and that is when I found the Miracle-Gro AeroGarden Ultra with Gourmet Herb Seed Pod Kit. I wanted something that could grow a variety of herbs so that is why I choose this particular model.

I love to cook with a variety of herbs but they can be very expensive when you buy them in the grocery store and frankly they are often not very fresh.

What I Love About the Miracle-Gro AeroGarden Ultra

First of all let me say that I find I do have a green thumb when it comes to growing herbs in this indoor garden container. It makes it so easy as all I have to do is plant the herbs, add some water and the system does the rest. In fact, everything is automated. The container will even tell me what to do!

Yes, it tells me step by step what I need to do to look after the plants. The screen gives tips and tells me when to add nutrients so I don't have to keep track of a single thing.

One other thing that I like about the this indoor garden is that the grow light hood is adjustable. This way when my plants got taller I could adjust the height. I haven't started growing plants like tomatoes but I thing since they get a lot taller than herbs this is a great feature on this machine.

I just started growing some lettuce since it is getting more expensive this time of the year and secondly lettuce is often grown with pesticides. I thought I could grow my own and have a more healthy head of lettuce. So far, this has been a great addition to my kitchen and I've gotten slightly "gourmet" with my cooking since I'm using freshly grown herbs!
