Quiz: Name That China Pattern!
Can You Name that China Pattern?
How well do you know your China patterns? Can you tell a Lenox plate from a Mikasa bowl? Yeah? Well, good for you! Maybe that expertise will help you name that China pattern in my just-for-fun quiz. At the very least, you'll rack up some Squid points!
The name of a China pattern is a distinct name assigned by the manufacturer given to identify the pattern or design on the dishes. It's like when they name wigs or shoes names like Heather, Brenda, or Carol.
Examples of China pattern names are Argyle, Petit Point, and Hunting Scene. The manufacturers or makers are Homer Laughlin, Vernon Kilns, Crown Staffordshire, and Royal Albert to name just a few.
This quiz features a random selection of my vintage plates. I use all mismatched plates and bowls to eat from every day. I find them at thrift stores mostly and love them all. My every-day dishes are also my good dishes. Some of my good dishes even have chips, and I don't care.
Photo of a few of my pretty plates all on a wall. All photos of individual plates in this article are mine (that is, they're my plates and I took the photos).
