Your Solution to Corn Stripping : Corn Zipper

Sometimes you need some help with corn stripping right? Doing everything by hand, is annoying to say at least. Therefore we got the OXO Corn Zipper

Taking advantage of this mouse-style tool, you can simply make the most of the season's fresh corn. It strips the sweet, milky kernels from cobs pretty fast and easy, gathering them within the 1 cup container. The ergonomic Santoprene grips cushion your hand while you zip the tool along the corn, in the stainless-steel notched blade cutting through several rows of kernels during the time.

Oh, and it is Dishwasher safe! Check out my Corn Recipes below also! :)

Sweet Corn BBQ Recipe

Oh my... Listen, this is the best recipe i ever got! It is the real thing for BBQ!

Even when you thought, it wasn’t possible, grilled sweet corn got more appropriately and better! :) Just try this simple but very tasty BBQ sweet corn once, and you have been sold to it i think. Grilling the corn utilizing a flavored butter mixture brushed on (rather than buttering the corn after it’s done) really gives it a definite smoky, barbecued flavor to the corn.

8 sweet corn cobs, husks and silk removed

1/2 stick softened butter

2 tablespoons sweet and spicy meat rub

What to do Next?

Start with corn (duh..), and break the sweet corn into halves or thirds at least. Just make it not too small..Place that in an large saucepan filled with water, and bring that to an real boil. Boil taht for about 5 to 6 minutes. Drain the water, and rinse with cold water after that.

Put everything aside, we go into the main thing : BBQ smell

Just combine the butter and meat rub together

In the meantime, preheat the grill. Place the corn pieces directly on grill, brush the tops with the butter mixture. Just wait a few minutes, rotate, and butter the other side.

The corn should cook in about 5 to 6 minutes.

Is it a Mouse?

This may look like a mouse for your computer, but it easily strips kernels of corn off the cob. OXO's Zorn Zipper kitchen tool!

This is a one of the great time savers i got, and I'm glad I purchased it. I've used a knife in the past but was never happy because I wanted whole kernels, and without any loss. Trying to look at several types of corn strippers, I decided on the OXO Good Grips because it looked as if it would be easier on my arthritic hands and I liked that the kernels would be contained inside for the most part.

I found it very easy to use. There was a slight learning curve to get the angle right. Also, you have to be careful to press down onto the cob rather than squeezing the stripper in your hand, otherwise it can come apart if you apply enough pressure. Once I started pressing instead, I had no problems at all. There are some kernels that escape the container but most stay put.

Obviously, you must use caution when dealing with any item that has a cutting edge but I never once felt in danger of cutting myself, even when washing it. Three cobs stripped in minutes with minimal mess and no pain to my finger joints, plus it's super easy to clean - Love it!

The Best Corn Stripper

This corn stripper works great, it cleans the kernels right off the cob and holds them in the cup, so that they do not fly all over the kitchen.
