Paris Themed Bedroom Ideas
"Paris is always a good idea"
Paris, the capital and largest city of France. Millions of people come to visit this beautiful city every year. And why wouldn't they?! Paris is known for its delicious food, beautiful parks, hot fashion, wonderful people.......the list goes on and on! Now you can feel as though you have woken up in Paris! Below you will find a great selection of French Inspired decor and ideas. Perfect for decorating a kids, teen or adult Parisian Themed Bedroom.
Eiffel Tower Bedding - You will literally fall asleep in Paris
Placing a bed in the center of the room with a Paris themed bedding set is a definite eye-catcher. Especially one that has an Eiffel Tower or two on it. But these bedding sets can be pretty hard to find. I found a couple of gorgeous ones online. I would pair these bedding sets with a solid colored sheet set and throw pillows.
Paris Pillow and Covers - Will make you want to leap in bed and fall asleep
Nothing makes the bed look more inviting than a couple of throw pillows, don't you agree? When purchasing a throw pillow, make sure it is an actual pillow and not a cover. And vise versa. I have made the mistake of purchasing a pillow cover before, thinking it was a pillow. A lesson well learned. Now I always look at the title and description before making a purchase.
Bed Crowns - A bed made for a king or a queen
Crowns were worn by many kings and queens of France as a symbol of royalty. That may be the reason why a crown is often seen in French decor. Especially the queen crown.
Bed crowns can create a royal romantic feel in the the bedroom. They make the bed look very romantic and elegant when they hang above the bed. Bed crowns can be found in a variety of colors, including gold and white. I like the classic white look. Sheer white drapes finish off the look.
White Vanity Table Set - The more drawers..the better
White vanity sets are also very French. They can be used as an extra piece of furniture in a large bedroom or can replace a large piece of furniture in a small bedroom.
I remember owning a vanity set when I was in my teens. But it was made out of glass and didn't have any drawers like this one. Which I wish it did have because of all the lip gloss and hair accessories I had lying around my room. Drawers really do come in handy.
This vanity set has an Paris shabby chic feel about it. It also reminds me of the 1800's, which is actually a good thing. Can pair up beautifully with the whole French country theme.
Eiffel Tower Table Lamp
Lamps can create a beautiful glow in the bedroom. Helping to create a romantic setting. Of course, that all depends on the light bulb and the number of lamps you have on in the room.
Before buying a light bulb for your lamp, make sure to check the maximum wattage it will take. You will usually find this information on the manufacturers instructions.
I really love the Eiffel Tower base of this lamp. This lamp can be used for lighting and/or decoration purposes.
Room Dividers - Not just for an Asian themed bedroom anymore
A room divider can draw lots of attention because of its large size and uniqueness. This one measures 6ft.tall and 3.5 ft. wide (when opened). Which is not a bad size. For this type of theme, you will want to use a room divider that centers around France. Going for a solid color or any other style that has nothing to do with France is not a good idea because you have to remember, room dividers a.k.a Shoji boards can be easily mistaken for an Asian theme. So please choose your design wisely.
This shoji board has two different looks. One side illustrates the front view of the Tower, while the other side has a side view.
I would take tons of pictures in front of this headboard and tell my friends I was in Paris. He He!
Chandeliers - Elegance at its best
Did you know that the earliest recorded chandelier was made out of wood!? Luckily for us, chandeliers have evolved tremendously. Chandeliers are used in many Parisian Themes as a representation of the beauty and elegance of Paris.
Money saving tip: Make sure to choose a color that works well with the rest of the room and is versatile. You wouldn't want to change your chandelier every time you change your decor.
Map To Paris
Do you want to find your way to Paris in your dreams? This duvet cover might help. OK, it may not help but it will definitely add a fun touch to the bedroom. Teens will especially love this duvet set. It features the metro map of Paris. I would pair this bedding set with red or pink accents.
Eiffel Tower Posters - Easiest wall decor option
Decorating with posters is easy and inexpensive. You may also be given the option of framing the poster. It can cost a few extra dollars but it will definitely make your posters stand out and last longer. Posters can be placed just about anywhere in the room. I prefer to place my posters behind the bed or on a single wall. All three posters below measure 24 x 36 inches.
The couple in the poster looks to have gotten swept away by all the romance of Paris, but who wouldn't?? The splash of color on the car really makes the poster stand out. Light blue accents in the bedroom would look great with this poster.
Eiffel Tower Wall Decal - Just cut, peel and stick...but slowly
Add some Paris flair to your walls with Eiffel Tower wall decals. Many wall decals are easy to use and can be found at a good price.
Metal Dress Mannequin - What every fashionista needs
The first fashion mannequins were made in France a LONG time ago. Lets just say that none of us were born yet. Unless you're a vampire...ah!
The word Mannequin itself means "an artist's jointed model" in French. Makes perfect sense.
This is a wrought iron mannequin. Incorporating wrought iron in the bedroom is a great idea because it can remind guests of the bistro tables and chairs used in many French restaurants
This mannequin has a vintage feel to it. I would leave the mannequin as is or decorate it with something French. Maybe a large hat, feather boah or some French pearls?
The Damask Pattern - Loves to go bold
It seems as though this beautiful Damask pattern was just recently invented, when it fact it has been around since the Middle Ages! It was extremely popular in France. A famous president was said to have owned damask curtains during his stay in Paris. I wonder who....hmmm
Many Parisian Themed Bedrooms have been decorated with this elegant pattern. It looks great next to solid bold colors. I like usually like to pair the damask pattern with hot pink or turquoise. What do you think?
I would use this wallpaper on one wall (accent wall). Preferably on a wall that does not have windows.
The French Poodle - Such a little diva
It should not surprise you to hear that the Poodle is the national dog of France. Although the breed was believed to have originated from Germany, it later became very popular in France, hence the name given. The pink or black poodle is the one seen in French decor.
So do pink poodles really exist? The answer is...Yes and No. They only exist when people dye their poodles hair pink. But poodles are not born pink. But it would be pretty cool if they did.
