Pops of Color Fabrics = Easy Home Decorating!
Pick A Theme, Change Your Look!
It's boring to look at the same things month after month, year after year... so here's a quick way to refresh your room's look and make everything look brand new!
My home is vintage 1961 in very neutral colors so I can change the whole look by introducing pops of color in throws, rugs and pillows.
The first thing you need to do is think about the kind of look you'd like to have. Think of themes, color or both. Then it's time to go shopping!
Personally, I love all the animal print out there right now! But you can just as easily accent a room with a solid color like red, purple, whatever you love!
Three Easy Soft Pieces!
To create this look, you will need pillows, throws and rugs in a coordinating pattern or color, or both. One of my favorite pieces is the "body pillow" shown in the photo. I am in love with animal prints lately so I snagged this pillow instantly when I saw it. I paid a whopping $14.99 at Shopko. It works for me because it serves both as décor and as a doggie nap bed! (Winnie is modeling for you!)
These I adore. They can provide warmth for a winter nap, they can conceal not-so-new furniture, and beautify your room with looks and texture. I found this tiger throw for $17, and bought the same ones in three other animal patterns. They wash like a dream and I've had them almost two years now.
A Word About Fabric Selection...
Try to find items that are washable. It'll make your life much easier!
Cool Animal Theme Objects on Amazon
Who would ever think of an animal print teakettle or baking cups? It amazes me, the things you can find out there now! Remember to include things that will be tossed around in your décor, like your handbag! Why not include it in your theme color/pattern too!
Let's Add Some Knick-Knacks
Your knick-knacks are your chance to show your personality, things that are special to you. It's fun to choose a theme and vary it from time to time.
Here's My Latest Grouping
I chose the theme of angels and mosaic glass candles for my winter mantel. I will add a couple of Valentine objects soon.
