Powder Actuated Nail Gun
Powder Actuated Nail Guns
Powder actuated nail guns, also known as powder actuated tools (PATs) were first used by the US Navy during World War I for ship repair. In construction and commercial usage they are typically used for fastening materials to hard surfaces, such as wood and thin gage steel to concrete and structural steel. Powder actuated nail guns work by the controlled explosion of a charge of propellant, which fires the nail or fastener into the material. As they do not require a power supply for normal use, they are therefore cordless.
