Not surprisingly, Slow Cookers have become popular again. Probably something to do with the current economic situation and the returning popularity of home-cooking and back-to-basics healthy family meals.

In one survey I came across, three quarters of those owning a slow cooker would recommend them. Particularly useful for cooking a meal while you are out and being ready to serve on your return. If you need to, this will also cook a healthier meal from cheaper cuts of meat, and no one will know. Your meals will taste better this way and its so easy to amend your favorite recipes to be made in your Slow Cooker.

And don't thinks its just stews. A quick flick through the many Slow Cooker recipe books will surprise you at how versatile it is for sweets, treats and puddings to. Try a curry, which is ideally suited for this type of slow cooking. When Christmas comes, you can even 'create' your mulled wine in it.

To get your gastric juices going, you are in for a treat with melt-in-the-mouth meats and traditional tasting vegetables. Remember how that tasted?

I've just bought another one and I am so glad to have re-discovered this brilliant brilliant addition to my kitchen repertoire. After much research and web trawling, I have certainly made the right choice in getting the Crock-Pot SCCPVL610-S. Mine came with a free recipe book, but I have found myself branching into several of the other cooking books available for slow cooking and have no excuse now to have to keep thinking about new meals for my family. Long may my enthusiasm last again.

      Hi, oh yes. The poor thing is so used and the knob is now missing on the lid....Time for a new one, this lens is just in time! The recipe books look exquisite! Thank you for putting this together for us crock potters. Super.

      I do! I would never be without it. Once you make stock in a slow cooker you will never ever buy it again.

      I don't have a slow cooker yet. When I get one, it'll be one of these. What I love about them, besides their obvious cooking advantages, is the way they look. They're so stylish, you don't have to worry about putting them away all the time. Very nice!

      I see we agree on something because I reviewed and recommended the same slow cooker also. I enjoy using slow cookers for the convenience and the quality of food made in a slow cooker.       I really have to try the slow cooker. I remember eating a meal that was cooked for probably 12 hours in a solar cooker and tasted like heaven, one of the most delicious recipe I ever had.

      I sure do! We surely would have starved without a slow cooking when we worked together, a 60-90 minutes away from home at 'scary hours' corporate jobs! It was such a blessing coming home to a ready to serve meal! :) Love your work, Cara!
