Photos and Pictures of my Purple Flower Garden

I love the color purple, and I love Purple flowers. I had always wanted a white house, and a purple garden, and sure enough, as time has went on my house is indeed white, and surrounded by beautiful slate gravel and in summer blooming with purple flowers. If you love these coloured flowers then collected on this page are photos from my very own flower garden and where possible resources for you to learn more about these gorgeous flowers.

....One day my British Bulldog Puppy, Belle decided she really loved my purple flowers too! and has now eaten its way through 4 clematis (trellis as well) lavender, and an array of gorgeous purple flowers :( All I have left is a very bare back garden. Luckily I love taking pictures of flowers and created beautiful unique cards and pictures of them, so we can still enjoy the blooms. And of course I share them with you.

This page is dedicated to what was my beautiful purple flower garden I had created, and a celebration and discovering what is growing in my new Garden. I share with you the beautiful pictures I managed to take of the purple blooms and bringing you new flower pictures from my new garden, and what I am growing to create a new beautiful flower garden.

I cant wait for the first full year of being in our new home and seeing what springs up into the garden.

And yes the dog is banned from the front garden.

Plant a Purple Garden

Clematis, sweet peas, morning glory are just some of my favourite purple flowers II am going to start my garden over this spring, and I will keep this page as an ongoing project. So check back to see what I have planted and how it turns out!

Gardening Jobs in April

Getting Ready For Summer

Living in Scotland April is just about as early as you can get for starting seeds, and having them outside, as it is still very cold at nights and frosty in the mornings.

I start to mow the lawn once a week from beginning of April onwards, stating at quite a high setting this helps to get the grass growing at an even pace. I have lovely little snowdrops on my front lawn that were accidentally planted there last year, by me weeding the border and forgetting to lift the bulbs, but sprinkled within the grass they were beautiful. It was sad to see them go with the first cut of the season.

I have now put outside into the greenhouse all the seeds I started in inside.

Morning Glory, Sweet Peas, Ostrich Feathers, and Sun flowers

My top tip for when you are planting seeds, is I mark the name of my seeds on a roll of masking tape (which I bought at the dollar store) using a black permanent marker, I then stick the written seed name onto the pot, This is just to make sure I know exactly what is in my pots.

Growing seeds need not be difficult

Greenhouses perfect for starting seeds and plants - Little greenhouses are just as good for the job on hand

I love my little 4 shelf greenhouse and it has produced some gorgeous plants over the years. I always buy seeds, and love planting and watching them grow.

Crocus Spring Flowers in my Purple Flower Garden - I love seeing what pops up in Spring time in my garden

April - I have these beautiful crocus appearing all over my garden just now.

Spring Flower I just found in My Garden - Chionodoxa (Glory-of-the-snow)

April - Apparently this is a relative of the Hyacinthe family, and spring flowering like the crocus, snowdrop and daffodils. they have these gorgeous blue/purple leaves that create a star shape and has a white circle in the middle.

Beautiful Delicate Garden Flowers - Purple Flowers

I now have a name for the plant Aquilegia vulgaris 'Black Barlow' Did you know Aquilegia comes from the Latin word for eagle which refers to the flower's five spurs that resemble an eagle's talon. These are gorgeous with the dark plum color, and each one looks like a miniature dahlia, it's so easy to grow, quick to spread

Purple flowers - are they your favourite too

what is your favourite color of flower

Pretty little Forget Me Knots - purpley/blues flowers

These started to pop up around half way through April in my garden. I have decided to keep these sweet little forget me knots in my garden, many see these as weeds, I don't I just love the Blue carpet they spread

With two large dogs I have to keep an eye on where they wander in the garden - they do regcognise the raised voice that says "Get off the garden" - although I have found a few flattened daffodils, at least they sont eat them!!

There's some lovely purple flowers on this page Lisa and thank you for linking to my Bees page :)
