Retro Decor

Vintage Memorabilia to Decorate Your Home

I love all things retro! Well, most things. I can do without orange or green shag carpet and some of the mod plastic furniture of the 1960s. But I do love retro decor that personalizes my space and makes my house feel like home!

Vintage memorabilia like this Borden's Sandwich Spread can lid hangs above my kitchen sink. Since I don't have a window there, I've decorated the wall with things that make me smile like old cookie cutters and this jar lid. These fun nostalgic items make washing dishes much more fun!

I loved eating sandwich spread sandwiches as a kid, and when I spotted this vintage lid one day at the local thrift store, my eyes lit up! I had to have it. If kitsch is your style, I've selected some fun ways to decorate your home.

Get your own advertising jar lid to hang on the wall, or since many of these lids have jars attached, use the jars for storage.

Be sure to display fun collectibles inside like marbles, spools of thread, or just some new cotton balls or Q-tips!

Bring Out Childhood Keepsakes

They're Probably Retro!

I love this vintage frog. My mom made him from vintage fabric that happened to be new at the time! He's full of dry beans making his limbs nice and limber.

At home, he was sort of always sitting on a ledge or windowsill, and I just think he's adorable! Now he sits on a chest of drawers in my bedroom.

If you kept any of your childhood toys or have some things from the old homestead, consider spicing up your shelves or walls with them. They might just be one of a kind treasures like my frog.
