Shark Steam Mop

Why I Love My Shark Steam Mop!

This is a review of the Shark Steam Mop.

I purchased this mop over a year ago and love it so much I decided to tell the world about it.

So why am I so excited about something as simple as a steam mop? Well, I live in a new construction house that has 80% hard surface floors. Since I live in a state where it can get pretty cold in winter, I often wear socks to keep my feet warm. Well, I did not enjoy taking my socks off to discover the soles were filthy -- it was just too much for this perfectionist!

I was sitting in the dentist's chair a year ago and the personal television was running a "paid programming" ad for a steam mop. When the hygienist returned to me, she apologized profusely for leaving me watching an ad and changed the channel. I told her, "I was sitting here thinking that I really need one of those things." So, when I was out shopping one day, I ran into the Shark Steam Mop in a store and busted the budget buying it. Don't get frightened, this is not an expensive piece of equipment - it's just that I have a very tight budget; who doesn't have a tight budget these days!

The Shark Steam Mop is THE BEST investment I have made in a really long time! Let me tell you why I love my Shark Steam Mop!

Why I Love the Shark Steam Mop

1. The Shark Steam Mop doesn't leave any residue on my floors because it cleans with pure steam. It doesn't use any chemical cleaners, so it is very green!

2. The Shark Steam Mop leaves my hardwood floors virtually dry, so it is safe for the wood.

3. The Shark Steam Mop has saved my socks from grit and grime that was ruining them.

4. It is ready to use in 30 seconds.

5. It is light-weight and easy to handle.

6. It has a 20' cord, so I don't have to continuously find another outlet to cover a large area of the house.

The Newest Innovation in Shark Steam Mops

Shark Vac Then Steam

Here is the newest version of the Shark Steam Mop. It vacuums your floors, then steam mops them. They just keep improving!

A friend borrowed my steam mop for a few days because she could not get her hardwood floors clean enough. I took it to her house and demonstrated how to use it and she immediately said, "I have to get one of these." We used three cleaning pads in her small kitchen and were still picking up residue that had been left from her current wood floor cleaning products.

You don't really know what a clean floor looks like until you have cleaned it with a steam mop!

Customer Review of Shark Vac Then Steam Mop

I bought this product [Shark Vac Then Steam] without reading any reviews first and I'm glad I didn't. I love it. It is not hard to push at all in either mode. I didn't have any trouble with the pick up. It sucked up everything on my floor without pushing it around or blowing it like my regular vac does. I really liked the mop, had to go over a few spots a couple times, but its was way better than scrubbing on my hands and knees like I used to do. Plus it is sanitary without having to spend money on all kinds of chemicals. My favorite part is when I'm done I can walk through my kitchen and dining room without having stuff stuck to the bottom of my feet (my biggest pet peeve).

Buy the Shark Steam Mop from Amazon and Save

This is the newest model of the Shark Steam Mop and it will steam clean your floors from both top and bottom side of the cleaning pad - very smart design. This means you will only use one cleaning pad for a larger area before needing to change it.

Remember, one side of the cleaning pad will cover approximately 300 square feet before it begins to leave streaks. Keep your eye on how dirty the cleaning pad is getting before it begins to leave streaks on your floors.

This is model of Sharp Steam Mop I use and love. The newer design (as shown above) will clean twice as much square footage before needing to change the cleaning pad to prevent streaks.

What Others Say About the Shark Steam Mop

The Shark Steam Mop is great. It is easy to put together, and easier to use. It does a great job of cleaning my laminate and tile floors. I've got a dog and two cats, and it does fine with the hair that's left over after sweeping. Overall, I'm thrilled with our purchase. It helps us keep the floors clean, and is good for the environment too. ~Matthew R. Noble

I love this [Shark Steam Mop] mop and trust me I have gone through some expensive floor cleaning machines. The last one being the Hoover one that has a dry vac, wet clean and wet pick up and it doesnt compare to this. With a 2 year old, 3 dogs, 3 cats, and a husband who always has his shoes on, its a blessings. It dries so quick. I am finally not turning into psycho exorcist woman yelling at everyone to stay off the floor until it dries now because its dry in seconds. I will agree with others that on some of the nooks and crannies on the tiles it takes a little more elbow work. I would defifintely recommend this product and that coming from a very picky neat freak! ~Beth A. Painter

I have no carpet in my home. A couple of small area rugs, but otherwise solid surfaces. Hardwood throughout (including bedrooms), with the exception of Kitchen and Bath, which are linoleum.

The Shark Steam Mop delivers as promised - it gets all the dirt, grime, and even sticky messes, with ease. With two kids and a dog (my husband and I call them our "little tornadoes"), my floors get pretty filthy. ANd dragging out the mop and bucket is a huge pain, not to mention the fact that I am then using dirty water to clean my floor. That's a good idea why?? Then there are the chemicals. I switched to white vinegar, and it made a big difference, but then my house selled like, VINEGAR.

With the steam mop, there is NO SMELL. It cleans and deodorizes. When I have a tough spot, I simply press the handle up and down very quickly, to get an extra hot shot of steam - lifts even dried jam off the floor. I have even used it to remove marker off the hardwood, and to steam stickers stuck to the linoleum. Then I can just lift them off. Everything else I've tried was useless, and I'd end up scraping them off with a knife. No need for a knife on my floors now.

It is pretty quiet. My dog is afraid of brooms, vacuums, etc. But I can steam around him, without frightening him. (not too close, obviously - it is steam after all, and I don't want to risk hurting him).

It is so simple to use, my five year old can do it. She LOVES helping me clean, if she gets a turn with the steam mop. My 2yo loves it, too, but is too small to be a real help yet, LOL.

I do not have the "wet rag" problem. If you do, you are using too much steam. Switch to a dry pad, and continue working (not pressing so hard and fast to soak it this time). ~LeapfrogLady
