To make a living room appear larger you need to open up floor space. The fewer the pieces of furniture and decor, the better. Opt out a large sofa and replace it with a stylish loveseat.
A futon is another great alternative to a large sofa. They can also be used as an extra guest bed. Futons come in many sizes.Choose one that is not too large for your living room. Light colors, such as white, can help brighten up the space while adding a modern touch to your living room.
Need something to pair up with a loveseat? No problem. An accent chair will look great next to your favorite loveseat. But not just any accent chair. Choosing one that is armless can definitely help open up some space and make it easier for you to move around in.
Go for glass furniture if you can't live without a coffee table set. Shhh....choosing glass furniture for your living room can give the illusion of more open floor space since you can see right through the furniture.
Wall Mounted Audio/Video Console
Instead of a television stand or huge entertainment center, choose a wall mount for your television and video equipment instead. A wall mount can help open up space for more furniture that you may need in your living room.
Ottomans With Storage
Ottomans can replace coffee tables and side tables. They can also be used as extra seating without taking up a lot of space. Don't forget to choose one with storage. It is a great way of hiding unnecessary clutter in your living room.
