Updated on May 18, 2013

Fun, Solar Powered Lights for your Garden

My mom has always had a thing for hummingbirds. This year she added solar powered garden lights that look like hummingbirds in flight to different garden beds around the house. They look great during the day and at night!

She just wanted to add some fun and whimsy to her various flower beds when we found these cute hummingbirds. If you want an easy way to add some whimsy and lights to your garden, flower bed or even a container garden, solar powered garden lights is the easy way to go!

Below are some of my favorites as well as photos of mom's humming bird solar lights so you can see them in action.

Which one do you like?

Mom has moved them all over the yard! Those little hummingbirds have graced her flower beds, planter box, pool planter containers and the stone flower bed at the front entrance. She loves them.

She has ordered some more now that she knows she does like them almost anywhere!

I think she's most crazy about having them light up at night and NOT have her electricity bill light up! solar lighting is the wave of the present and the future and mom is riding the wave!

This is the exact solar powered garden light mom has in her gardens/flower beds. The pole fits together to make it the full height of a bit more that 17 inches. The solar panel is about halfway down the pole. It charges during the day (from the sunlight) and then at dusk the light comes on. It really looks nice among the flowers.

We've had lots of compliments for visitors and neighbors.

Note to Self

Get mom some more solar powered garden lights in different styles to go with her hummingbirds.

She'll love it!

This butterfly won't fly away! It also is made of a crystal color that allows the color changing led lights to sign through in the dark. Lots of detail in the butterfly replica.

One of my youngest sisters loves butterflies. She uses them in different ways all over her outdoor space. I need to tell her about these solar powered garden lights that look like butterflies.

There are 5 butterflies attached to the stone in this garden light sculpture. The stone has the solar panel built in and the 5 butterflies twinkle or blink in the darkness. Really cute for your yard.

This is so interesting! I may have to get one myself just to see it in action!

Solar Lights Are Easy

No wires or outlets needed. Solar lights are powered by the sun. Set them in direct sunlight for best results. Ours took a couple of days in the sun to get to full lighting power -- but they look great now!

This garden stake features 3 color changing blooms on on stake. The familiar red-blue-green colors will change at night. No need to water these babies. They will stay fresh and tall all year through!

They would look great with our fresh, yellow day lilies. I could hide them inside the bunches and they won't show during the day. However, at night they would shine!

Solar Powered Garden Lights are Great Fun

Especially Color Changing Ones

Hope you found a garden stake that's right up your alley like mom did! Butterflies, dragonflies, flowers, crackle balls and more are out there.

Since mom is happy with her hummingbirds, guess I should move on to something else. Like deciding what else I can get mom for her garden that will go along with her solar hummingbirds....

These are great. I love lighting when I am enjoying my back porch with it's country look in the evening. The lights just set up such a nice effect.
