I love to use Swiffer Dust & Shine Furniture Spray for a variety of cleaning jobs around the house. I love it! This page shows how I use it, the results, and the applicators for each cleaning job. I use it with an O'cedar dust mop on hardwood floors, a swiffer duster on furniture, and with a dusting cloth for vinyl and leather surfaces. Dust and Shine is great on wood, leather, vinyl, granite, and marble. The only thing I change is the applicator I use for each of the cleaning jobs depending on the surface.

I love the way everything smells so fresh after I’m done cleaning. It only takes a little bit. Be sure to shake it up really well each time before you spray it on the applicator.

Spray it away from other surfaces. I like to spray it with the material I’m going to clean behind it. For example: When I spray onto the dust mop to clean the hardwood floors I have the dust mop over the largest section of the floor area I am getting ready to sweep. This way on occasion when there is a little overspray (since my eyesight isn’t exceptional anymore) it will be right where I want it.

I don’t need to reapply the spray very often. A little goes a long way. The spray will make all the dust and dirt attach itself to the mop and leave behind a nice clean shine. It isn’t sticky like other sprays or ‘shine’ applications.

Normally I like to use a less is more philosophy when it comes to cleaning. This product is one I return to again and again and am delighted I found it.

The mop head is washable! You don't need to wash it often but when you do just take it off the handle and put it in the washing machine.

The handle is so easy to use, it has a great movable area between the handle and the mop which makes it really easy to get around and under everything while I sweep.

Select Your Applicator

Wood floors, wood furniture, or leather.

Select the applicator you would like to use based on the use you have in mind. The swiffer line of applicators are really good and so are other options so your favorite is the best choice.

For Hardwood Floors

I prefer the Ocedar Dual Action Microfiber Flip Mop for the hardwood floors because it is easy to use and slightly flexible for different areas (under and around furniture).

Disposable Duster Kits

I like to use the hand held disposable duster for furniture and countertops. The handle is reused and the duster part is disposable. I have often rinsed out the duster and reused it again. Using cool water to wash and rinse, then squeeze gently in a towel. Air dry. They will last a long time this way.

Use the Dust and Shine lightly on the duster. It only takes a little bit to work wonders.

For Furniture Dusting

Think of application in terms of simple and durable. I like to use The Swiffer Disposable Duster for furniture. They are disposable yet last for several cleanings. It isn't recommended by the manufacturer but I have tossed a few in the washer in a net bag and they will work a few more times after being washed once.

For Wood Furniture

For wood furniture I like to use the Swiffer Duster (comes with a handle and disposable duster applicators).

For Leather Furniture

The applicator I use is Zwipes Furniture Cloth.

Great Results

Same bottle has lasted for months

I love how the floors feel after using this product. They are smooth and not sticky like other products I’ve tried. The wood looks healthy and feels amazing. Everything sticks to the mop but, when it is time to clean the mop it shakes off really easily. It attracts dust and grim when you want it to and then releases it when you shake it out. It is really remarkable how easy it is to use and how great the results have been.

Floors Stay Clean Looking Longer

If you have ever dusted hardwood floors and a couple of hours later it looks like it needs it again then it is because the product has a sticky or waxy ingredient in it. It is actually attracting dust. This isn’t that way at all so the floor needs dusting less often. I often think it is repelling dust! But I’m not sure how it works so well.

This is soft, washable, and works well with Dust and Clean. Great to use for leather furniture, marble and granite countertops, and you have the cloth which covers a lot of surface quickly.

Easy To Use

It is so simple and works exactly how we want it to.

It is really easy to use. Shake and spray on the applicator (duster, dust mop, or dust cloth) and you’re ready to start. Usually I don’t even like commercial cleaning products so this is one of a handful which has my adoration. It is simple to use and I always get amazing results.

Several Scents

I have use two of the scents and prefer to use different scents at different times of the year.

I have used the Gain scent which has a clean aroma and is especially great for spring and summer.

The Almond scent is amazing in fall and winter with a warm and welcoming aroma. I haven’t tried other scents which are available but, I have been wondering about trying the Lavender scent in the bedroom on wood furniture.

Great review! I dust mop my tile floors daily to pick up Daisy's dog hair (amazing she isn't bald) and I'm thinking this might help pick up more. Might just have to give it a try. Thanks, GypsyOwl!

I've never heard of an almond scented cleaner. I have to scope it out. I use a similar product on fake leather shoes now, plain old Pledge. I'm going to have to try this.
