Tangerine Tango Accents For Your Home

Updated on January 14, 2016

Bring Life Into Your Home with Tangerine Tango

Tangerine Tango was Pantone's 2012 Color of the Year, but it can brighten your environment any time. No matter what year it is, this color can bring an element of energy to your home. Tangerine has a bold charge to it, but has a depth at the same time that lends sophistication. The richness of Tangerine Tango keeps it from becoming too whimsical or flambouyant. It's just the right mix of elegance and verve.

If you have a neutral palette or an already vivid collection of colors, you can introduce this color into your home or office.

Isn't this pillow great? You can find it on Amazon farther down on this page.

How to Use Tangerine Tango in Your Home

Tangerine Tango Pillows and Accents for Your Home

If the palette in your home or office is neutral, this color can obviously be added as a bold accent without fear of clashing. Curtains and a few pillows can take a simple white or taupe room and make it pop.

But what if you already have other colors in your room? You might be surprised at just how many things will coordinate with this lively citrus.

Tangerine Tango can serve as a delightful accent to browns, light blues, and greens. Think you can't stick a piece or two of orange detail into your purple room? Ha! Just ask any Clemson Tigers fan . . . orange and purple go very well together. Some folks think that red and orange will clash as well. I will say that you have to be careful when putting them together, but they can definitely complement each other, as can orange and pink. Orange and pink are a marvelous summer combo.

Now, how to add it? Here are a few suggestions: You can paint one wall, a front door, or a bookcase with it to splash this trend into your home. Not ready to make such a big change? You can still introduce this color's energy and trendiness by selecting knick-knacks, bedspreads, or pillows to bring a smaller dose of it into a room.

I love color and tangerine is like a beautiful sunrise or sunset. This reminds me of a glass lamp my sister has with metal overlay in the glass panels, that may be a direction you may want to check out. Refreshing!

For years I've been using tangerine color as an accent color at my place of business as well as in my home. It sure does feel energizing in a calm way to me.

Tangerine is the color for 2012. It makes a wonderful accent color with aqua or gray for a subdued tone. Pair it with cobolt blue and yellow for a Mexican feel.

I never thought I'd choose a tangerine color for my home since I'm a cool, pink kind of gal, but lately I've found orangey and bright shades are very appealing. Maybe it's my old age. :) You've chosen some very nice items to feature!
