The Confederate Room
The Master Bedroom
This is the last in a series of theme room lenses I'm doing. This one is about our master bedroom. The decorating ideas for this room came from my husband. He thinks anything having to do with The Confederacy is very cool. Don't really know why, because he's Minnesota born and bred just like me. But...his interest allowed us to have a master bedroom that's decorated in it's own unique way.
The Master Bedroom is fairly small, it measures about 10 X 12. There's a window in each wall, and the walls and ceiling are white. We have yet to replace the neutral carpet on the floor, but we'll be doing that as soon as the funds are available. We'll be replacing it with dark gray carpet.
The Walls And Ceiling
We did absolutely nothing with the walls and ceiling. We kept them white. However, three of the four walls in the room have giant flags on them. Almost like tapestries.
We bought a new bed because our old one was an antique, and it needed some refinishing and such. We saved the headboard and footboard to maybe use at a later date. My dresser and vanity are antiques, so they fit nicely in the room. My husband bought an antique looking dresser and nightstand for himself, and that was that.
We have two reversible comforters that we use. They are both red on one side and blue on the other. We also have a set of sheets and pillowcases with stars on them. That's how we completed the ensemble.
