The Style of Love
Decorating in the style of love
I like to tell people that my bedroom is decorated in the style of love. The mantle is decorated with carefully arranged pictures of me and my husband, flowers and sentimental gifts we've given each other, and anything having to do with Corinthians 13. On the wall, I painted a poem about love. Since the wall is blue, I painted the poem so it looks like a floating cloud. And on the shelf sits a canvas bearing our names and the words Always Kiss Me Goodnight.
This is more than just a style of decorating. It's a reminder to always love each other. It's a reminder to always put our relationship first. It's a reminder of our past together and a symbol of our future.
This is perfect if you don't want to put nails in your wall.
I have ours thrown casually on a chair.
I had one just like this (until it broke). It was my favorite. I guess I just loved to see our smiling faces with the words But the greatest of these is Love
I just love the bold colors on this!
Why "Corinthians 13"?
Like most normal couples, my husband and I argue and sometimes it gets pretty serious. Afterwords, when I walk into my room and read those three words Love Never Fails, it makes me want to try harder. The few times I've felt like giving up, those words kept me going.
I also use Corinthians 13 as a sort of guide for my marriage. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. translates to Be patient when my husband is wrong. Be kind when he doesn't deserve it. Do not envy his gorgeous hair. Don't brag that I'm smarter. Don't be too proud to admit when I'm wrong.
Personalized Always Kiss Me Goodnight Canvas
This is what is sitting on my shelf. I put some dried roses behind it and a ceramic angel on either side. It's one of the first things people notice when they enter my room.
This is great if you have brick walls (like me) or if you don't want to put nails in you wall.
Personalized Always Kiss Me Goodnight Pillowcase
His and her pillows baring your names in large gold letters and "Always Kiss Me Goodnight" scrolled in smaller black letters.
We've decided to get these for our anniversary next month. I think they're going to fit perfectly with the rest of our room.
I love this frame because it reminds us that a good morning kiss is just as important as a good night kiss.
Why "Always Kiss Me Goodnight"?
A long time ago my Great Gram told me "Never go to bed angry". Since I was only 7 at the time, I had no idea what she meant. However, now that I'm married, I know exactly what she meant! To me, that's what Always Kiss Me Goodnight is all about. Since putting that canvas on our shelf, my husband and I have kissed every single night. No matter what, we leave our troubles in the next room and we kiss. And, even better, we cuddle. Even if we end up in the same argument the next day, at least we kissed and cuddled and had a good nights sleep the night before.
The newest addition to our room is a canvas printed with our wedding vows, our names and our wedding date.
This 16" canvas is printed with the traditional wedding vows. The bottom 2 lines can be personalized with your names and wedding date, or anything else you want it to say.
Sometimes when my husband and I are having an argument, I'll lay on the bed and stare at our vows on this canvas. It always reminds me that no matter what, our love can withstand anything.
Flowers for Inspiration
In my room, I have an assortment of dried flowers and silk flowers. Mixed in with my ceramic angels and surrounding my various love quote canvases, they always inspire thoughts of love and romance.
Calla Lilies have to be the most romantic flower ever. They possess a grace and passion that no other flower can replicate.
This arrangement includes a dozen 20" silk calla lilies in your choice of pink, white or yellow, plus a clear vase with fake water.
A love poem on my wall
A White Rose
by John Boyle O'Reilly
The red rose whispers of passion,
And the white rose breathes of love;
O the red rose is a falcon,
And the white rose is a dove.
But I send you a cream-white rosebud
With a flush on its petal tips;
For the love that is purest and sweetest
Has a kiss of desire on the lips
