The Wolf Room

Updated on April 7, 2014

My Living Room

This is going to be about the way we decorated our living room. Our living room has a real "cabin in the woods" feel to it, so we made the best of what it already looked like to decorate it with a wolf theme.

Let me describe our living room for you. When I finish, you'll understand why it has the feel it does. Our living room has a very high ceiling, but it only measures about 11 X 17, so the high ceiling gives it a bigger appearance. It even has a little loft area in it. One of the walls has fake rocks implanted in it. I'll be painting those some day, but for now, they're just white.

The Furniture

Our living room has some very interesting furniture in it. We have a black futon with a black cushion, a wooden rocking chair with dark green cushions on it. On the rocking chair cushions, are pictures of things you would find in a cabin. We have a small entertainment center armoire that has doors you can close. There's a tall shelf unit, and black video shelves. There's an electric fireplace with a mahogany finish, and a wolf end table with a wolf lamp on it.

The armoire and shelf unit we bought in plain pine, then my husband took a propane torch and gave them both a scorched wood appearance. Then he finished them with a clear varnish coat. The combined effect is very interesting. For the coffee table, we bought an unfinished pine table and put a clear coat of varnish on it.

The Finishing Touches

Okay. So we got all this great "woodsy" furniture and a neutral carpet, what next? The only way to cover windows in a room like that, is to use bamboo blinds, so that's what we did. My husband also installed a black ceiling fan.

Since I had all these wolf items when my husband and I met, the living room was a great place to put them. Every time we've bought another wolf item, it's gone into the living room. Unfortunately, there's so many things on the walls now, I think we'll have to stop buying wolf items.

Work In Progress

For the most part, this room is finished. We will be replacing the carpet soon, and I will be painting those great rocks in the one wall. When that stuff is done, you better believe I'll be updating this lens.

For the time being, enjoy the photo gallery, and let me know what you think of our decorating idea.

I also love to have a very comfortable country type atmosphere in my home. I enjoy a lot of natural wood furniture around me so I can really relate to your wolf theme room decor. Love it!

You don't get a little fearful surrounded by wolves? (I would be)
