Updated on May 13, 2014

Under Cabinet Toaster Oven Solution

An under cabinet toaster oven like the popular models displayed here is the perfect solution when counter space is minimal. With a small kitchen and a new extended family, I find that my limited counter space is precious.

So there is little to no room to store small appliances on the counters. Now for a solution; find the best space saving under cabinet toaster oven to free up my counter space without having to move or build an addition to my kitchen.

Looking For The Best Under The Cabinet Toaster Oven?

Since I needed quite a few new appliances, I thought I would start with one of the larger ones, an under cabinet toaster oven. I did a lot of research and reading, so that I could find the right model that would serve my families needs.

Finally, after hours of online hunting this is what I came up with for the best under cabinet toaster ovens. But I also came across a few countertop models that really stood out, as well. After finally making my decision on which toaster oven would do the job for our kitchen, I thought that I would share some of my research, in hope's that it would save you some time and help you to choose wisely, too.

Having A Hard Time Locating An Under Cabinet Toaster Oven?

It's unfortunate that they stopped making the space saver under cabinet toaster ovens anymore. They really worked well and are a plus for anyone wanting to free up counter space. On occasion the odd models do come available, but don't last long.

So if you come across one it's best to grab it as soon as you see it. That's if that is what you are after. I'll still be posting them on this page when ever I find one so make to bookmark this page and check back often.

More Under Cabinet Toaster Ovens

I have found that lately it's extremely difficult to find a space saving under cabinet toaster oven. You can still find some here on ebay, but until more under cabinet toaster ovens become available you might have to look at some alternative toaster ovens. So here is what I have come across.

Under Cabinet Toaster Oven Heat Guard - For Black & Decker Models TRO200-TRO600

This under cabinet toaster oven heat guard mounts easily and provides a full hood protection for your cabinets.

The oven heat guard comes in a medium gray color which goes nicely with B&D models TRO200-TRO600 and measures 4-1/4 inches by 16 inches by 10-3/4 inches.

All hardware and instructions come with the heat guard and the adjusting bracket fits most cabinet styles.

Installation of the Black and Decker Spacemaker Toaster Oven

A Few Things To Take Note Of

While I was looking for under cabinet toaster ovens I noticed that the Black and Decker models had some lower than average reviews that were mainly directed at installation problems. Either the instructions weren't clear enough or the screws were not long enough for cabinet thickness and some other minor issues caused by installation frustration.

Not wanting to find myself in the same frustrated situation, I went and did some more research to see if there was an easy fix for the installation woes. Sure enough I came across two videos describing easy step by step fixes for these minor issues.

So if you are thinking about purchasing a new Black & Decker Spacemaker Oven, be sure to watch these videos first. I know the videos eased my mind a bit as over the years I've owned many Black and Decker appliances and was totally happy with them.

Breville BOV800XL The Smart Oven 1800-Watt Convection Toaster Oven

Breville BOV800XL The Smart Oven 1800-Watt Convection Toaster Oven with Element IQ

While I was looking for toaster ovens I came across the Breville BOV800XL The Smart Oven 1800-Watt Convection Toaster Oven with Element IQ. This seems to be the perfect little oven if you are looking for an alternative to using a microwave. Lately I've been trying to use my microwave less and less. So this oven could just be the answer to my dreams. It's not just a standard toaster oven- it's also a convection oven and a pretty one at that. This stainless steel toaster oven (broils, bakes, and toasts) depending on the setting and to top it off it uses 50% less electricity.

I like that, anything that saves on my energy bill is great. For my large family the 6-slice toaster capacity would be pretty handy and I like the idea of the 13" pizza capacity. I make a lot of frozen pizzas from scratch, so this would come in handy and it would take much less time then my conventional oven to heat up and less time to cook especially when you are in a hurry like I seem to be all the time lately.

Take a look at the video below and see what you think. I am really leaning towards this toaster oven for my kitchen.

What Is The Best Convection Toaster Oven?

Cuisinart TOB-195 Exact Heat Toaster Oven Broiler, Stainless

My hunt for a new under cabinet toaster oven isn't over yet. After getting off track a bit I wanted to find out if the Cuisinart TOB-195 Exact Heat Toaster Oven, compared with the Breville toaster Oven just to see which one would be better for our family.

Well the Cuisinart TOB-195 seems to be a good match with a 6-slice convection toaster oven broiler and a large 0.6-cubic foot capacity. This is great for a quick fast meal or as an additional oven which can handle a whole chicken or 12 inch pizza for our family.

The Cusinart TOB-195 has a nice easy-to-clean brushed chrome interior and stainless steel exterior. All in all this convection toaster oven makes for a good contender in my search. If you are wanting to get a little more info please check the video below and see what you think of the Cuisinart TOB-195.

@othellos: Thanks so much for the kind words! I think these work great, not just for student apartments but for anyone who doesn't want to waste energy using a full size oven. I'm not too keen on microwave ovens, so for me the choice of a toaster oven was a perfect solution.

Under the counter toaster ovens are a great idea. Wish mine was. We replaced the microwave with a toaster oven, but I never thought about getting an under the counter model. Blessed.

Having a toaster oven off the counter top is really handy. It's especially smart for people like me who tend to leave things (flammable) on top of the oven and forgetting. Love the idea of a convection/toaster oven ,.very handy.
