Easy and nice winter decorations

Updated on September 20, 2012

A smell of fresh pine tree

Every winter, we cut off branches from pine trees and made a front door carpet. The smell was absoutely fantastic and the snowy feet was cleaned before entrance. When the mat was worn out, we just picked a new one. Sometimes we did not used roaps around them, we just put them down like a huge fan-shaped rug.

Winter pine decoration

At home there were only unpainted furniture as scouring with white sand and pine needles. White sand and chopped pine boughs adorned the floor lacking mats.

If you have access to fresh pine, make them yourself or cut them to small pieces and spread them over the floor! The smell is outstanding and lovely! If not, buy ready made artificial ones here.

I've never thought of using Pine Branches as a door mat. Great idea.
