Although the bamboo felt sad in the beginning, it now became happy

All the feelings and emotions that result from happiness brighten up our face

Learn to be happy

There grew a bamboo on the banks of a stream. It was full of leaves. Its branches spread wide like a big umbrella. Its stem stood straight, giving shelter to birds and files. Although there were many other bamboos in the grave, this particular bamboo stood out for its beauty. The bamboo felt very proud of felt very proud of itself.

But one day the master came and started to cut off its branches one by one. It wept copies tears and bore the pain silently. Finally the master cut it at the bottom and felled the bamboo to the ground. Then with a sharp sickle, he split it into two halves. He cleaned the inside and took them to the stream. He made a groove and placed the bamboo in it to let the water flow into the field.

Although the bamboo felt sad in the beginning, it now became happy. It was happy to realize that its life had not gone waste. That it could be useful in channeling the stream into the parched fields made it feel great. Thus even in its suffering, the bamboo could find happiness.

A happy disposition makes us see the bright side of life. It makes everyone around happy. Happiness is there right inside us. All the feelings and emotions that result from happiness brighten up our face.

Some people think they are born to be sad. They go about with a sad face. If you allow worries to take control of you, you will have no peace of mind. You will not enjoy life. You will never look cheerful. You will not be able to do anything property. You life will naturally become miserable.

Like the bamboo, you need to learn to be happy even in suffering. Everything has a bright side. Look at the moon. When it appears dark it is certainly bright on the other side. You need to look at the side of life. Only that can make you happy.

Some people see only the dark side of life. They are always unhappy. `It is my fate,’ they say. But God has not created anyone to be sad. In fact everyone is entitled to have a happy life. But such people do not understand the beauty of life. Although God has given the same chances to all of them to be happy, they do not have the required enthusiasm for life. Only those people with a zeal for life can come out successful. They have lots of things to be cheerful about.
