Asleep On The Hub

Updated on February 4, 2009

I can't sleep. It is 4:50 am. Will this make any sense? I doubt it. What does?

It is now another day and I wonder why I started this hub. What is it that I can say that might make one small difference in anyone's life?

Who am I but just another speck of sand among zillions on this earth. What have I accomplished in my 56 years? How will I be remembered? Will it even matter when I have departed? When I make that final step that we all have to make into eternity, leaving all earthly things behind, I guess it will not matter.

We are all too soon a fading memory. Life is but a mist, like dew on roses. Gone too quickly. Time has a way of slipping away, silently and unseen. I often say: I went to sleep one night 30-years-old and woke up the next day 50-years-old. Where did the years all go? Something to think about:

Time is of the essence,

Because it's fleeting by.

We can't begin to slow it down,

Even if we try.

So live life to the fullest,

With no regrets or doubts,

'Cause time won't always be with you,

It's slowly running out.

Thanks for the response. That article is deep if you think about it. All true and yes I was melancholy but it passed. Now, I am on top of the world. We have to have a melancholy day now and then to help us appreciate the bright days.

So melancholy! I hope your day - and every day since - has been brighter. Make each day the best!
