How can sin be forgiven or redeemed

Updated on March 29, 2008

Door of repentance

I found that the most forgiving God is decribed in Islam. It is irony. Because in Islam there are so many 'DOs' and 'Don't DOs' first impression is "it is opression". However if one searches about, he will find that door of repentance is also as wide.

0- Only not fogiveble sin is to have partner associated to GOD and die in that state. If repents before that that can be forgiven too.

1- There is no original sin. Everybody is born as pure. Everybody who dies before they reach to maturity will go to heaven.

2- There is no responsibility if the person "Does not know"

3- Doing right way is not accepted if the intention is not right

4- Any sin can be forgiven regardless of the size and the frequency if the person repents sincerely, do not publisize his mistake and as forgiveness from the creator(the almight, only one) without any intercessor. It should be directly to God and not through any other entity, image or idol.

5- Can he hear? yes.

6- Repentence in the last moment is not acceptable. That is why one should repent before things are over.

There are more about this but I was interested on simplicity. Summary

1- God is near to everybody regarless of their religin, gender, nation, sin.

2- He can hear and respond

3- He forgives. Although his punishment is severm he mercy overcomes his anger.

As a Christian, all I need to do to be forgiven is ask, and mean it. As a Christian, there is only one unforgivable sin, not accepting Jesus Christ as your lord and Savior. All other sins can and will be forgiven. It doesn’t matter what, or how often. Of course once Christ is directing your life you won’t kill very often. I have been looking into Islam as well, trying to find the hate of the Jihad. In Islam I see nothing but respect for self and others. I guess much like my God, evil people can twist the teaching of love and acceptance to achieve personal goals. My God loves you all and hates nobody. I respect and admire true Islam, I’m very afraid of radical Islam. I love and respect Christianity, I’m very afraid of radical Christianity.
