How the Walgreens EasySaver Program Works

Updated on January 26, 2008

Walgreens is a pharmacy/drug store that has been around since 1901. I will be the first to admit that their regular prices are not good deals. Walgreens does have what is called an EasySaver Program that allows you to get things like over the counter medicines, batteries, make-up, paper products, food, etc for little or no money. By using this program you can get most of your household needs for very little money.

Each month Walgreens puts out an EasySaver Catalog. This booklet of coupons and rebate offers is found as you walk in the door next to the weekly sale flyers. The weekly sale flyers come in your Sunday paper. Using these two items you will be able to save lots of money on your household items.

Each month Walgreens offers items with a rebate that will make the item free after the rebate. After you purchase the items you need to fill out the rebate form in the EasySaver Catalog, include the receipts and mail the form in. Occasionally Walgreens will require a UPC as well, so read the details of each rebate carefully. Also make sure you take copies of everything before you mail it in, just in case there is a problem.

You can get your rebate back in two different ways. They can mail you a check or you can request a Walgreens gift card. Having your rebate put on a Walgreens gift card is the best option because you earn an extra 10% on the total amount of your rebates. This should cover the cost of your stamp and then some.

After you have done this for a month you should have enough on your gift card to purchase the next months free after rebate deals without spending any money out of pocket. Once you have a gift card you can just fill out your gift card number on the rebate form and they will automatically credit your gift card with your rebate. This is faster than getting a check or getting a new gift card each month.

The EasySaver catalog is also full of coupons for other products. These are store coupons and can be used along with manufacturer coupons. So if you have a manufacturer coupon for $1 off Lubriderm lotion and the EasySaver catalog has a coupon for $1 off Lubriderm lotion, you will be able to use both of these coupons on the bottle of lotion, getting $2 off total. Combine these coupons in a week when the lotion is on sale and you will get great deals, much cheaper than Wal-Mart.

The Walgreens EasySaver Program is very easy to use, although it does take some time to get your money back from the rebates. If you don't want to do any of the rebates, picking up this free catalog each month is worth it for the coupons alone. If you haven't tried the Walgreens EasySaver Program yet, I would highly recommend you look into it. I have found it very much worth my time.

Laurie, you should be able to go on the Walgreens website and submit your rebate.

On June 25, 2010, I bought RE NU for $7.49, because it was 'suppose' to be a 'rebate' at Walgreens- the receipt shows $7.49 and the attendant did not tell me how to get my rebate. Please help me figure your rewards program out!? Thanks!
